I'm actually planning to sell my MacBook Pro, because I want something lighter. And since you already own a 27" IMac, your home desktop is covered, now you're looking to have something portable, the MacBook Air is your answer.

. I hope this helps some other people deciding to buy macs soon. We just got back from the store...I was going to get the 15 in MB pro but they were sold out so I got the 17 in MB Pro. It was 2,289. She's messing with it right now while I transfer my music and @!** from my old laptop to this new hard drive. The MB airs are too light for me so that made it easy for me to go with the Pro and I like a big screen.

I had the 15" right here for you, cheaper too. 17" is too large (heavy), and specific to media production and power-hungy tasks.

Aside from my charger going out on me after 22 months, my 13" MBP has been good. Very reliable and the no virus thing helps (myth or not I haven't encountered any problems I had with a PC). I didn't have Applecare so I had to buy a new charger for 70 bucks, I'm considering getting Applecare soon.

Does anyone know how much longer I can expect this MBP to last me? I got it in January of '09. I'm guessing at least two more years?
