But i know they wont change it cause its Jordan Brand. if we wanna see nike air again why dont we complain to nike who first made the shoes, the 12s started jordan brand. so any retro after those should be on point. But to recreate a shoe ur brand didnt design and create originally may be difficult may explain why shapes and quality is off. i think as of 2000 more vet niketalkers should know that Nike air probrably will never grace another Jordan unless Nike itself retros them. Dont wanna get bashed but why complain

Personally, it doesn't bother me, it's just a damn logo and a sublte change. Can't complain to Nike, it will never happen, JB reproduces the shoes and not Nike, although JB is a subsidiary of Nike. And the 12's did not start JB, that was a Nike commercial. JB launched with the AJ XIII (check the commercials). I think this argument is stupid and always has been. You don't like Jumpman logos? Don't buy the shoe. So simple, yet so effective.

Bingo!
The thing is that first gen JB consumers like myself are now the grumpy old men of the shoe industry.  We remember
the durable quality leathers of the OG Jordan releases, the space aged tech that went into each shoe, and the direct relationship between the shoes and the championships.  Those days are long over.  Sure there were issues with glue, paint, and shoe molding back then.   But if you've never held an OG release in your hand and compared it to what was on shelves during that era, then you will never understand.

The complaining stems from the decline in quality that we witnessed first-hand over the years.  It's the same complaining that you hear other grumpy old men like us complaining about the quality of cars, housing, ect.
The pinnacle of sneaker quality is associated with the Nike Air log, not with the Jumpman logo.  Delusional consumers trying to hang onto a piece of their childhood feel that the return of the Nike Air logo would automatically imply a return in the original quality. In this profit driven economy we know that this will never happen, but like the Grumpy Old men that JB has turned us into we forever complain.

Yet i have to remind u that the drop of quality is Not jordan brands fault but nike generally.1. Nike shoes like the air max 97 dropped in2000, some colorways also had seriousPaintjob chipping issue. 2. Nike has started to use more enviroment friendly glueSince the end of the 90's. This causes easierSole separation from upper materials.3. Contemporary air jordans are using up to date technologyAnd are clearly made for pro basketball performance. If u have not witnessed all air jordans from XVto 2011 have been using good leather comparedto most retros released at the same time.

I don't really see the Nike Air removal as a big deal. I used to want to see it on EVERY retro that had it, but I don't care about it much anymore. I would just want for the quality to be good.

And from a business point of view, you guys have to realize that Jordan Brand has to issue Nike a check every time their logo is used. And this is JORDAN brand, not Nike brand. Of course Mike is going to want his logo on the shoes that HE made famous by playing in, not Nike. This is the only way we're going to get these retros. Because if Mike left Nike and took Jordan Brand to Adidas. Nike couldn't release his shoes without the use of his likeness.

Besides, if the Jumpman logo looks good enough to be on the tounge of your shoes, you shouldnt mind it being on the back. At least this way, there is a feel of cohesion.

Also this pic proves that they have the ability to make exact replicas of OGs, just look at how perfect and amazing those 94's look. If Nike was still in the mix we'd get the retros we all want.

the change, and brand reconition i can understand,

but because its the  III - VI , arguably the best 4 shoes of the ENTIRE jordan range is why it bother's me so much. Nike achieved "sneaker design perfection" with these 4 shoes, then JB ruins them by putting tiny ++% jumpman in its place, just looks wrong.

it ruins the flow of the shoe for me.

because it's the way i remember the shoes. yeah, i've sort of accepted the jumpman on the back but it just plain sucks compared to the 'nike air' on back. my question to op, do you have any jordan's with 'nike air' in your collection? because if you don't, then you just don't understand.

I am a bit of a purist when it comes to retros. I simply want them to look like the original pairs that I enjoyed so much when I first bought them (I'm old). I still buy some of the retros regardless but I will always want the Nike Air. If they can put Nike Air on the "Banned" pairs then I feel they can put it on all the pairs that originally came with it

Great collection dude ^^
From those i only have the 99' IV in white/black(cement) and 2000 VI black/deep infared.

Nike/JB can actually do quite authentic looking retros if they want. Don't know who got in charge

since late 2001 and decided to alternate the logos and even minor design elements

For me, nostalgia.

I'm not getting bent on it though.  Do I wish they would retro everything prior to XII with the "NIKE AIR"?  Yes.

It's little details that I appreciate.  I'd love to look down at a 2011 pair of Concords and see a NIKE AIR insole.

But, it is what it is and nothing is going to change it unless the big heads at JB decide to do so.

Man, I wish the tongues on the V's would glow like that on the newer retros. Another cost cutting measure by JB to move from real 3M material to cheaper fake 3M material.
