Window tint Vol. COPS

I live in Maine, we've got the same tint laws as Mass, and I've got 35% in the front and 20% in the back and no cops have ever bothered me.  The guy that did the tinting told me they don't give a crap how dark you go in the back as long as the front is no darker than 35%.

I live in Ma and have 20 percent all around and have never had any type of problems.

Washington state law is nothing less than 35%

All my previous cars have been tinted no less than 18%. Been pulled over numerous times for speeding and never once has the officer questioned my tint.

*Knocks on wood*

i was speeding down the I-5 here in cali, got pulled over & got a speeding ticket, then copper saw my tint, & said he'll think about giving me a ticket.
Next thing you know $130 ticket in the mail.

I need to go talk to my optometrist, gotta get a health/safety exclusion thing for my tint cuz of my LASIK surgery, works like a charm for some dudes I know.

Dam Cali & ZERO tint allowed in the front....

Edit: reading up on it, i guess its closer to the $400 range for the ticket out here, im not sure how my  friend's ticket was only $120 a few months ago..
whaat?

mine was just a $25 fix it ticket..yes im in CA
Actually you can't have any tint in the front. Regarding the ticket, yes a fix it would cost you $25, but if you decide to not fix it, the fine you would have to pay is $120....just got one last month

. Decided to pay the $120 so I didn't have to go through the hassle of taken them off, having the ticket signed off, paying the $25 and then putting them back on...cheaper to just pay the $120.

I honestly forgot how dark mine is percentage wise. Its dark but not that dark. Never had any type of problem. My front windows are supposedly darker than the limit, but I wasn't trying to have mismatched tint. I definitely see why there are laws for it, a lot of times at night I can barely see what's going on and have to roll down the window.

It almost feels funny seeing cars without tint; its almost like walking past someones house and all their blinds are open.

I'm surprised at the number of people with actual tint issues from the cops.

I've been pulled over and my tints aren't even that dark.

I keep the papers from the place I got my tints done stating how dark they are just in case a cop pulls me over again and tries to say they're illegal

I got 20% on the sides and 5% on my back window here in NYC. Sometimes I'll go months without getting pulled over, other times I'll get hit twice in a week. As soon as they light me up, I pull over shut the car off, roll down all the windows and turn my interior light on. This can def help with how the cops gonna react, in my experience they usually will roll up check my license while their partners head is half way in my car getting a look around.
For the most part the tint is just probable cause to see if your drunk, high, or got something in the car.
