What's crazy is the WNBA draft is on the 15th. Such a quick turnaround from the tourney. Hope the league and ESPN can capitalize on the momentum.

I agree with the marketing aspect of things but the W is cutthroat with who makes the team. There isn’t enough money for marketing specialists on a roster long term so even if she makes a roster she will have to improve her game because she might get cut mid season.

It’s crazy how many really good to great college players don’t make the team. You have the best of the best from around the world competing for spots on these teams. Didi Richards had to play ball in Australia after the Liberty cut her when they brought in their super team. She now has to fight for a roster spot with the Mystics to get back in the W.

If she can polish her offensive game in the post, who's to say Angel can't have a Natasha Howard type career?

Probably higher on her than a lot of you in here, I don't see how she can't have a solid career in the league off of her motor + defensive ability alone.

If she improves on the offensive end, that's a more than serviceable and borderline All-Star caliber player in there.

Natasha Howard got some elite post game and she stretches the floor. It took her a minute to figure it out

At the same time I’d be lying to you saying I knew what Howard was coming out of college

I think what will make or break her career will be her commitment to getting into peak physical condition. I’ve been watching Angel since her Maryland days and her conditioning has to improve at the next level where the post players are bigger, stronger and in great shape. People talk about her motor but there were many games where she was incredibly gassed in the first half and sometimes stayed on the other side of the court. I blame Kim for a lot of that but she might not get the chance to develop her skills if that isn’t fixed.

I don’t think Reese is just a marketing play in the W, but she will def need to improve on the offensive end to become a starter/stick in the league. Her motor on the offensive glass is elite but I’m not sold on her defensively without fouling (which I see as an issue for Brink as well, but Brink is way ahead offensively).

I’ll be curious to see how Reese’s marketing goes if she’s more of a bit-part W player though. She def has the following heading in but how long will it last if she doesn’t make a leap?
