The way to do it is to make sure that your 2nd job is not stressful......or not too much at least.  That way you don't get burned out.  Try to make it so that your 2nd job is something that gets you something thats beneficial to you like working retail (so you get can't the hook up on clothes or something) or like at a restaurant (so you can get free food or cheap drinks).  Also, nothing better than getting back every weekend.

Yesterday was my first full day (working my day & night job.) Monday I was off at my day job. It wasn't too bad. I think I just have to get used to being up and out all day and night. I got home at like 11 last night so I still had had a chance to get 6.5 hours sleep. Back at work here bright and early. Once the money starts flowing in that will make it alot better too.

Pretty much, things will suffer, and you'll treat minor things like major because you're burned out, out of patience and time to properly deal with it.  It's nice to have that stack though, grind it out for as long as you can, just make sure you make time for other things, and don't become dependent on that second income, so if it's too much you can get out easily.  I should've made a schedule for myself when i did it.

Word. Unles you have to. If you start making new bills based on that second income, you're gonna find yourself in too deep...

That's my motivation... Baby Girl...

I just got a 2007 Maxima in February so this will help pay bills like my car payment and free up my other money. That way I can spoil the %$#& out of my daughter. I need a Ps3 and a new TV too...

I've had multiple jobs since 2003. However they where part time gigs and some would slow down while others would pick up so I never really felt the brunt of it. Even in college when I was going to school full time, had a full time gig at a supermarket and a couple of part time gigs (side gigs) plus internships it didn't feel too bad due to their flexibility.

I've been feeling it this year though. I've been working 7 days a week, 10-14 hours a day. The savings account is looking nice and the part time gig money all goes to savings so I'm not really relying on it. I had labor day weekend of because I requested it but before that the last weekend off was when my brother got hitched in July.

I've definitely set goals (buy a car w/minimal financing and get a nice down on a house) that I will reach by the time the holidays roll around. I am definitely going to scale down next year but I still want to keep the part time job it has too many perks.

Social life definitely takes a hit, but I definitely make the most of it with the gf and friends. The thing I kiss is having "me" time. I haven't bummed it in so long, just sit around and do nothing all day and play PS3 and XBOX. I kiss those days. They are collecting dust. I bought a 46" Samsung on July 4th weekend...it's still in the %!!+$+! box.

Young bread- I would skip the PS3. Mine hasn't seen no action in awhile. Bought NCAA 11 on RD played it twice haven't had a chance to play since.
