I can't blame op for getting annoyed. I would've politely reminded the employee that he/she/it is an at will employee working for a customer friendly corporate company and that employees are expandable and a call to corporate regarding my terrible customer expierence would most likely result in its termination.
I hate rude retail warriors. I had to get a Niketown employee fired before because he decided to give me unnecessary problems when exchanging an item their company policy said I was well within my right to exchange.

I think you got me confused with your Dallas friend polorico who got a few niketalkers fired.
I only got the Niketown employee because he brought it upon himself. His job is to follow the COMPANY return/exchange policy and not make up his own little rules especially when they merchandise isn't even his to begin with. I tried to be polite and that got me nowhere and he had unnecessary attitude, I'm not going to catch a case beating him up so I spoke to management, explained the situation. They did my exchange no questions asked but I decided to call corporate because I shouldn't have that type of bad customer expierence to begin with when I did nothing to warrant it. The employee got terminated and quite frankly if he was going to have such a sourpuss attitude perhaps retail wasn't the best type of job for him to begin with.
