Wrestling Thread July 27-Aug 16: 8/16 Hiroshi Tanahashi Wins the 2015 NJPW G-1 Climax

I always wanted that t shirt..

me too
i bought the decal directly from piper this year...limited edition

it's the only wrestling shirt i have :frown:

i will suggest again to listen to Piper's Pit episode #63 - Stone Cold

https://soundcloud.com/piperspit

The way I look at it, with this bit being fairly recent, Piper went out with A CLASSIC!
The Austin impersonation by the guest & pranking Jim Duggan...COMEDY GOLD!

And if you listen, the comedy outweighs any bitterness...I'm glad he got a chance to be really
entertaining one last time for me. :frown:

Halfway through listening to the podcast.. Thanks for posting it.. :nthat:

With 2 legends passing away so close to each other it got me thinking..

Was Roddy Piper a better heel than Dusty Rhodes was a face?

not sure i agree on the premise of that as it's all a matter of opinion

both were popular
but they were different & also it takes different things to make a great heel vs face

and even if piper was the best heel...the face always wins in the end or trumps a heel

piper may have maxed out closer to his heel ceiling at the time versus rhodes maxing out his face potential

piper wasn't big enough to play monster heel but dusty was too rotund to be a monster face

apart from in ring...both were TOP SHELF on the mic
adding dusty's backstage role in the business, perhaps his wrestling portfolio was more diverse than piper's
...but piper actually broke a little into mainstream where as rhodes did not

both are huge names....but piper is who i grew up with :frown:
dusty kind of peeked around '80 imo with piper more like '85

Of course it's a matter of opinion, and that's what I'm asking for..

but i was just putting it nicely that you posed a stupid question

its like asking if rocky johnson was blacker than andre the giant was white or something

Guys, guys, let's all relax.

That's what THEY want, for us to turn on eachother.

THEY are watching in amusement.

They should blame *****y Paige that ZZ is still there. Patrick wouldn't have been in the bottom 3 had it not been for her goofy ***, and ZZ more than likely would've been voted off. I'm all for this loser going home
Patrick is fine. He didn't want to be part of that reality nonsense. He wants to be a WRESTLER.
