WWE ROYAL RUMBLE SUN JAN 27 | CENA WINS THE RUMBLE | ROCK DEFEATS PUNK TO WIN WWE TITLE

could have done without the interference in the main event... would have liked to see them both go back and forth, kick out of each other's finishers and what not, before Rock gets the win. We all saw the ending coming when Punk was going for the GTS, but losing to just the elbow was really weak IMO. I thought a Rock Bottom would close it out there.

So, is Rock going to be live on Raw every week until Wrestlemania? I sure hope so. Because "Here's our Champion via Teleprompter" just doesn't do it for me. And I guess it's a given that Rock wins at Elimination Chamber then. Which is also stupid, I would have liked to see Punk retain tonight and lose in the Chamber, would give him more reasons to talk about how great he is, took six guys to beat me, special stipulation match, etc.

Oh well. Still a pretty solid PPV. Worth the $. The Rumble match was really good, as stated. The crowd was really alive tonight too.

a few more thoughts...
Kofi's thing was dumb, they tried to re-create last year's thing, didn't work.
JBL was great on the commentary, loved how they were ragging on Cole the whole night
is Dolph EVER going to cash in MITB??
interested in seeing what Punk has to say tomorrow night

Exactly. The title means nothing if all it takes is a wrestler from the attitude era to simply cut promos for a month or two and immediately get the title. Makes the entire roster look weak as hell.

because no wrestler should ever decide when to have a match for the belt, and win. I know Triple H is wondering when will he fully take over. :smh: I have more faith in him than VKM

If the rock goes into wrestlemania as the WWE champion.. He needs to be in a triple threat match..

He took too many rest during tonight's match..
 
The Rock has 5 movies coming out in 2013 and then he's filming Hercules which is being banked on to be a big franchise with Brett Ratner

After WM I doubt he's ever in a WWE ring again and the WWE really has no legit stars outside John Cena
 
I give the Royal Rumble a 8.5 out of 10 rating.  I would of  liked to see an IC title match and a better ending to the WWE Title match but overall it was a good ppv.  I think the best  match of the night was Del Rio vs Big Show.   Biggest pop of the night had to go to Y2J coming out #2 in the Rumble. 

So much for those sites claiming Carlito and Benjamin were gonna be in the Rumble.   I hope WWE still decides to bring both back.  I bet if they do though it won't be until after Mania.
 
Cole was snitching so badly :lol: It was annoying as hell but unintentionally hilarious, especially with JBL's commentary.

Only thing that really rustles my jimmies was Godfather didn't even get a punch in, and his escorts looked like school teachers, and not in the good way :smh:
 
If it was anyone other than CM Punk that the Rock took the title from, I'm pretty sure most of the thread would be in celebration right now. :lol:

Yep. Even though he is doodoo in the ring, his marketability is huge, especially with this younger crowd. He's a walking cash machine for VKM. The only other person I've seen gain this much attention is...the Rock (and Stone Cold)

I think the Rock will be back after Mania for a match or 2 in the next 5 years.  Just not at the 2014 Mania.
