I wear basketball shorts/DC cargo shorts/khaki shorts 99% of days, no exaggeration. I'm a 20 year old college kid in california, there's really no need for me to be wearing pants. I'm too poor to be going to nice restaurants, the weather is too nice to make it necessary to wear pants, and I don't feel the need to be wearing pants to class every day. I'll be wearing suits to work the rest of my life, I'm enjoying these days while they last.

J Crew makes an urban fit chino that's pretty good to wear out casually.

I typically wear khakis, cords in the winter, or chinos out. Throw in a pair of dark wash jeans here or there.
