Your Next Vacation Destination.....?

Anyone been to Peru? Planning a trip to go in August. Planning to use Perhop to get from Lima to Cusco and then spend 3-4 nights in Cusco as well.

Wondering if anyone has any recommendations.

Hey there brethren, Me and the wife are heading to Colorado ( Brekenridge) small anniversary gift for her because she loves skiing but Ive never been ,to get away from the city , get to know something new outside of Florida and Jersey here in the states and to hopefully try and ski. I know it's super late in the season but according to my short research I should be able to find something . Already checked Arapahoe Ski Basin so definitely hitting it up. Any other places maybe cheaper Hopefully better would be greatly appreciated.

Also can someone tell me what exactly do I have to take Vs what I can rent i.e snowboard/skiis/boots / helmets etc. From NY so my black constructions I got for this year are a definite no-go....so I'm copping some Merrill hiking boots most likely some colombia/north face snow pants. Outside of that don't know what gear to actually buy, like should I buy a helmet ? Goggles? Etc.

Again Any and all help is greatly appreciated!!

p.s. would also like to know of any good "shops" *Wink wink* out there cuz when in Rome ....amirite

The other resorts that will be open until May-ish are Winter Park, Breckenridge, and A Basin. Maybe a couple others but those are the main ones that do not have govt defined closing days (national forest lease land, animal migratory / breeding areas etc). Breck is the cool town but more expensive. Arapahoe basin is no town at all, just a small lodge - party mountain, more locals, warm weather people will be dressing up in costume etc.

You can rent the board + bindings + boots. And a helmet. All that should be like $40 a day, maybe less. Goggles are a must for me but some people just use sunglasses (unless it's snowing). You should have a water proof jacket and pants, decent long socks (smartwool etc), waterproof gloves. Layers under the waterproof shells, but late season it's getting warm up there so if it's a sunny and 45+ day - you could ski in jeans and a hoodie, or less. If you aren't familiar with skiing or snowboarding though, you're gonna bust you *** learning and get wet for sitting so much.

You want some absolute 🔥 ⛽ when you arrive to DEN, then drive into the city and get something from the grower snaxland. Some shop names are The Herbal Cute, A Cut Above, and Rino supply co. Also get some edibles, but know your limits. 30mg is a LOT for most people.

Drink plenty of water, the entire time. Denver is 5280' elevation, Florida is 5.2'. Breck is like 8-9k at the base. Peaks are 11-12k. Hydration is key to avoiding altitude sickness.

Have fun! You're going at a rare time where you can potentially hit the triple 9 one day. 9 ski runs, 9 holes of golf, 9 innings of a Rockies game.

What you need to know? I suggest you go to Lima first so you can get adjust to the elevation, before going to Cusco.

Perhop is dope and legit. I would suggest using their upgrade hotel rooms if you do book with them. The standard hotel rooms aren’t that great or just opt-out of the room/ and find your own hotel.

I used them for an overnight trip from Lima to Huacachina.

Dope. We'll be getting into Lima first and then using them to go all the way to Cusco with multiple stops (Huacachina included). Planning to book our own hotels as well, fairly cheap for some really nice spots.

Did you go to Machu Picchu? If so, did you hike there and book through an agency? We are planning to do a 1 day hike there but haven't chosen who to use yet.

Dope - you’re doing it right. You’re going to love Lima - the food is so good.

Yes, I actually went to Cusco first then Machu Picchu then Lima. I wanted to do the hike but the weather didn’t permit and it was during Covid. Because of Covid, I had to use a guide. They only let so many people in a day the number was even smaller during that time. I was with a group of 5 people.

I think the way they’re going to have you do it - go to this small town, with a train, from there you stay the night in Machu Pichu and then hike the next day?

Looks like there are multiple options. The one you mentioned is one of them, the other is a day trip from cusco. We are thinking of just doing that, long *** day but it’ll be easy to leave our luggage in Cusco and not have to deal with checking in and out of more hotels (doing a bunch of that in the first part of the trip already). Most agencies pick you up from your hotel and get you set up as well.

Grine Grine what paperwork did you have to fill out / sign up for, for Italy? I think I need to setup the dPLF (EU Digital Passpenger Locator Form) but is there also a "green pass" or something needed for covid?

Flights from US to Turkey, and from Rome back to US are booked. Now just gotta figure out the middle chunk of May 28th through June 6th. Likely doing:

US to Turkey: May 19th
Turkey to Amsterdam: May 28th (2-3 days)
Amsterdam to Rome: May 31st (5-6 days)

Rome to US: June 6th

Yes you’ll need the dPLF to enter (the airlines will ask for it). You’ll get approval within 24 hours.

Green pass is basically your vaccination card but in a QRCode format. If you have your cards, just bring that. They ask for either or when entering establishments. They’re strict about that. And you must have all 3 shots at minimum.

So it you don’t want to walk around with the cards - do the green pass.

Flying out to Honolulu for the first time next week for a wedding. First vacation in years for my wife and I.
Just came back this morning, I’m already having withdrawals. If you need some suggestions on places to eat let me know! I have a good list of places.

Hey yall
Me and 4 groomsmen are trying to plan a bachelors trip for my boy who’s getting married

Any suggestions? I suck at this as I’ve barely travelled , he’s been to Hawaii and went to Mexico last year. Any suggestions would help out a lot. I don’t trust google reviews since I know a lot of vacation spots pay for reviews sometimes

Thanks

When’s he getting married?

Las Vegas (obviously)
New Orleans
Mexico?
Puerto Rico

Those are just some places I’ve been to for bachelors party.

Jaco Costa Rica. Depending what your boys are into, I have a plug down there too. So lmk.
Went to Jaco for a bachelor party as well, **** was wild. Bachelor passed out on an ATV tour we did from the "actives" the night before. Just glad everyone made it home. On our way out at the airport, some other dude who wasn't with us had a seizure.
