Had some small color changing on tha 2012 bred 4s. How do I clean that greenish tint off and get it back to grey witout painting it and also witout messin up the bred 4 upper material? Thanks
I definitely grab a white eraser to scrub that oxidation, dye, or discoloring or whatever that is off. That's what I used to scrub jean stains off my III and IV tabs

also with the Angelus do you use flat black and white or regular black and white on normal Jordan Brand tumbled leather. I'm trying to touch up some Olympic VIIs

The 3M on the tongue of my 99 Fire Red 5s completely cracked somehow, and I have an extra Fire Red tongue to use for a tongue transplant or swap. The only problem is that I don't know how to do a tongue transplant, and I have never seen any other posts about anybody doing them.

Has anyone ever performed a tongue transplant/swap, and if so could you tell me how? Thanks

Thanks. Angelus paint, correct? Also how many coats did you apply? Sorry for all the questions

lol it's all good. No I stripped the paint off by Alcoholic Wipes or isopropyl Alcohol. Stuff you could find in your local Target, Walmart, 99 cent store, whatever. Usually used to treat wounds (the stuff that burns) but it can be also used to strip off paint.

You could also use Acetone (Nail polish remover) if you wanted too. They are both organic solvents that will strip off the paint but be careful with it. It can also remove glue but i don't see it being a problem with those flyknits.

Here were my results, no paint, just strip (left painted, right stripped):

how did it crack? i wish i could help you. i try not to wear any reflective gear in the rain or avoid  washing and drying it
I'm honestly not sure. I bought them with the 3M cracking on the tongue haha.

I want to try and just sew it but I feel like there is a specific method to it

Thanks tho

Can this scratch/gash be repaired? If so, what method would you guys recommend?

I'm thinking of making an offer on the shoes, overall they appear in great shape, minus this flaw.

(Retro Bred 4's)

Thanks.

Thanks Sgamon. That is what I was thinking. Might be able to get a thin black sharpie in there to mask it? I may pass on these.

Thanks again :smokin :smokin.

The information in this thread is amazing.  Thank you for the comprehensive guide.  I just got a pair of concords and was wondering how to keep them clean.  The Barkeepers Friend tip is going to come in handy!  I also folded up the paper that came in the box to keep it from interacting with the bottom of the shoe.  I heard the acid makes them yellow even more.

Do light coats you'll see progress eventually when it starts to cover, then do a few more coats it will be ok since you are doing light coats, remember to let there paint dry, you can do that by alternating between shoes.. Good luck!!

^ Thanks for the info :smokin. Ordered the white Angelus yesterday so that should be here by Thursday. Gonna get started on the other parts of the shoe while I wait for that to come in.

Was just about to start my restoration project on a pair of Olympics too. I started with the midsole and painted it with Angelus white paint. Its way to shiny so Im going to buy duller and try it again. Have you had much success with the midsole and actual leather on the shoe matching? If so, can you tell me what you used? Thanks!!!

I just ordered the white, flat white, black, flat black, red, fire red, and duller from Amazon for my Olympic VII and white/ cement III restoration. I'll let everyone know what works in a week or two.

Honestly is trial and error when mixing paints. Get some of those leather testers and get to work, always keep track of the ratio so when you find it match you'll have the formula. A mini scale its helpful.

I tried tha white eraser on it, no difference. Anyone have any other ideas to clean that? Worn once, came from finish line like this.
