Man, i was bidding on a pair of 997pr but final price ended up at retail. No matter how badly I want them I am not paying retail for them.

They're definitely one of my top 3 998's (slim midsole being a main reason). Those rise photos are simply the work of a boutique using filters/lighting etc. trying to make a shoe look more glamorous than it actually is (KITH much?). The RRS photos are basically stock - here's the product- no tricks, photo. $180 seems very steep to me. Up until a few months ago you get get them for around $100. I grabbed a second pair for $89 with VIP off RRS. Looks like the bring back pack (if I remember the name correctly) is adding extra hype to them.
