OFFICIAL STOCK MARKET & ECONOMY THREAD VOL. SCHOOL'S OUT

Am I the only one who buys stocks of companies I use?

I made a killing off Facebook, Rite Aid, Under Armour and Tmobile last year.  FB and RAD more than doubled

Also my strategy and it has worked well for me. Nike, Costco, Southwest Airlines, BofA, Twitter, Apple. Need QT to go public.

It has been a bull market for a while so most names are trending up. The market has been good to us. The "if you hold it long enough you will make money" strategy has worked for many stocks including FB. I have yet to fully experience a bear market as a trader. Started getting into stocks around SPX 666 which was the low in 2008

This market is a big farce... To all my dudes stacking on metals, we will be VICTORIOUS! :pimp:

Quantitative Easing and new hundred dollar bills is all I'm going to say on this topic. Sick username btw

About precious metals, you're saying QE and printing is contributing to inflation which means an increase in gold's value, amirite?

In theory yes. Throughout history gold had value. Well that's what I always read. Rulers had gold crowns and jewelry. There is a limited supply of physical gold on this planet. I feel it is a universal currency around most, if not all, of the world but it is only worth what someone is willing to pay/trade for it. Gold has been a hedge for the market for the most part. SPY goes down GLD goes up. I feel all this QE and printing will sooner or later lead to inflation which will lead to people wanting to move their money somewhere that is nearly anti-inflationary. Is that gold?

How long before this happens? Will they let gold's value go up? These are the questions I am struggling with so I take my fundamental theory and couple it with technical analysis. I am speculating that GLD is at a really low risk spot to buy long for an investment. Something for 3-6 months or more; maybe years. Don't sell until there is a technical signal to sell. Look at the all time monthly chart below. The key is to look at your time frame. It is long term here. Your risk is the blue line 114.50 area. A pullback would be ideal for an entry point to lower risk. My plan is to start with a small position (20-25%) then size in if the stock starts showing technical signs that it is working. This is once I have unrealized padding and the path of least resistance is up. I could be very wrong and GLD could tank so that is why I start with a feeler position

I don't know how much this means but I have a friend that works at the Tesla plant which is down the street from me and he says the employees are getting overworked trying to keep up production, they are working 6-7 days a week. I didn't ask for more info but i have a feeling they will break their q4 delivery estimate.

I didnt even listen to myself

bitcoin even being mentioned in mainstream media is a gimmick. this thing is nothing but deep web digital currency no matter how many stores decide to accept it smh :x

happy i added to my TSLA position after seeing the spike/large volume around noon. wish i would've added more when it dipped to 140 :smh:

Gold miners showing signs of life, hopefully this is the start of a reversal. cup and handle? :nerd:

TSLA watch for follow through tomorrow. Think it closes the gap to 171.36 easily. Odds are there is a continuation move because if any holders wanted to sell they had plenty of consolidation days in the 140-155 range to get out. Also, long sideways consolidation usually means an explosive move. Buy the dip imo. Daily chart below. Notice the range break and the downtrend line break

TSLA over 170 pre market. If I was looking at this long term should I buy now or do you all think there will be another dip with a more attractive buy point?

Buy KWK today if it breaks 3.04.  It should run.  I have no settled funds until the 21st but I would be a buyer today if I had the money avail.

HIMX will also likely be a good buy soon.

What about best buy? I know it got slammed and may not be popular but it had quite a run before today. Can it get back to mid 30s?

I have some funds in zgnx. FDA is recommending to drs to not dispense as much Tylenol as before and this is the only approved hydrocodone only product with no Tylenol in it. Got in below $3 and its around $4.50 now. Once it picks up steam I think this can be huge. Hydrocodone was the #1 most prescribed drug for years
