The AND 1 Tai Chi Mid returns...

Would be sweet if and 1 someday could make a tai chi id site like nike id

The endless combinations man...
This post might be the best single thing and 1 could do to get back in the game. I would make a few pairs as long as the price wasn't much higher than $100. I really want the camp23 pack from Jordan though. they can keep the sandals

man, i used to love those. especially since Spree wore them. I still remember the advertisements with the cornrows on the back pages of Slam. I wore those and the the black red/red Finger Roll fades until they both had holes in them. Man, And 1 was my brand back in the day. Always chose them over nikes, jordans, etc. I wish they'd bring back cool ones like the aforementioned ones plus others like the Racer mid and low, Crossover, Silky Smooth, Tattoo, Rise, Coordinator, of course some Tai Chi, Too Chillin, Starbury Garnett and Spree, and a bunch of others I'd remember if I saw. Too bad I know they won't because if they did I also know I'd probably be the only one in line.

Then they had Marbury's which were silver just like the Player Mid above, but these one are never brought up like the other marbury's. Maybe it wasn't really his signature model, idk but it had his logo on the tongue.

Picture is from 98 I believe

Those were definitely his! The Marbury II is a classic to me, but I can understand why they're forgotten by most people since:

1)Well, they're And 1. Most people don't remember all the models due to them being a smaller company. Not to mention Starbury himself never really found himself in the greatest guards ever conversation here in the States. He's doing great over in China, but over here towards the end, he kind of tarnished himself. Anyone remember him eating vaseline on a the internet?

2)The shoe was actually really minimal compared to other hoops shoes at the time. No visible tech (air, zoom, hexalite, 2A et al.), just "duraspring" that I never really understood. No giant logo, just his on the tongue and heel if I remember correctly and the little metallic And 1 jewel/medallion on the side. Mostly mesh build, (except for the white ones) compared the leather tanks that were being built by the other companies (which, actually, I miss as well. I wish nicer materials could still be used at good price points)

3)It was more of a high top running silhouette. Everything else then was really more bulky.

The most memorable part of them was the pair of lace loops that came all the way down on either side (I didn't even use them). They came in a sneaker era when bigger was better and most all of the kicks we remember were chunky and bulky and packed with tech.

I loved these things. Another pair I wish would retro, but I know no one would be buying but me, and even I'd probably wait for a discount.

Here's a couple pics of a few of the colors I found in a cursory search. Sorry they're not bigger.

Also, on another marbury note, here's a few pics I found while I was looking for pics of the Marbury 2 of the upcoming Marbury 1 retro which gives some better angles to see what they'll look like come release time. They look good to me. Didn't even know Lance rocked em already a few times in Feb., apparently.

Also, last thing from me today: did anyone know he was with 361 Degrees now? That chinese company that Kevin Love is with? I didn't. Makes sense since he's over there, but I didn't know he had another few signatures rolling around out there. Guess he must have signed a little while ago. Here's a link to what I assume must be his latest model on their website. I kind of like them, but not enough to go try and source a pair from there. (Also, they must have used a translation program or something for the description because to me it was the best part)

Not gonna lie, those are kinda sick! I had a few pairs of his Steve & Barry's Starbury 2's. Nice design, and hell, for $20, who really cared about beating them?

Hadn't seen Lance wearing those yet. I remember trying the And1 Marbury 1's on when they first came out and I hated them for some reason. I absolutely LOVED the 2's though.

Peace,
J

some of the angles of the lines still look very off to me. I never had the OGs so I'm no expert, but the ankle looks to be cut way different than the pics of OGs I've seen. and the sweep in the middle seems to be angled way sharper. I like the flatter look much better. looks like money saved

all these pics seem to be cut completely different than those proposed retros. am I just seeing things? does anyone agree?

He's with another company so they more than likely wouldn't be able to do it. I'm grabbing them anyway. Also the starbury 2 and 1 is one of my favorite forgotten sneaker models ever! And 1 did a very clean job with those. I still want the silver all stars.

I'm all in for those Marbury 1s....don't even care about the "S" logo. They might never retro again.
