Just moved to Vegas, but im keeping myself from playing until i start working.

But yeah CasperJr said it all, play with the house. Dont Pass, Dont Come

If the point is even, ill play $5 hardway
I always do at least $1 YO on the comeout roll

Single Deck BlackJack, No Limit Holdem and Paigow for me.

btw, for those of you who frequent Vegas a lot AND gamble... i hope you signed up for hotel player's cards. You can only benefit doing so. It only takes 5 minutes outta your entire weekend to sign up. You won't regret it.

Sorry, but I hate when people play the don't pass line. Betting for the house for that extra .05% edge, especially when you're not even maxing your odds...its ridiculously annoying. I like to cheer extra hard when someone catches hot while someone is betting it. I cost someone like 2000 for betting on that don't pass while I was shooting. He payed me and my friend 50 each to crap out and I promptly did
laugh.gif

I play anything and everything except for the stupidest of games. Holdem, omaha, pai gow poker, tiles, craps, blackjack, three card, video poker, @%*% even slots. I play games where i have somewhat of an edge or an even-%+% proposition just to %+*! around on the other ones. KYS if you mess with wheel of fortune.

In terms of games where your money will last, Pai Gow is probably best for that. For a shot at a jackpot, three card, video poker, and slots. Craps is the funnest game in the casino though, definitely worth it to learn.

I play the pass line and the come (pause). Sometimes I'll bet the inside to pay for my odds, I tip dealers pretty heavily too just because I appreciate how much effort it takes to keep track of all the bets. Sometimes I'll CE for the %+*! of it. I also think it's fun to throw 2 bucks in every shooter for a 2way fire bet if the casino youre at has it. Like I said, it isn't as if I play craps to minimize house edge or anything, I just love the hype that the table has when someone is shooting hot.

well I play hold em, but its usually with friends..never in a casino setting.

I'll probably try blackjack and the slots too.

I'd like to try craps..but know nothing about it. Basically I just want to know should I play a variety of games or try to stick with one game?

Doesn't even take anytime, just sit down on the table, give the pit boss your ID and ask for a players card, and they will have one delivered to you. I play mostly everything in the casino aside from three card and roulette. Craps is hands down the best game and most fun in the casino, especially when theres a hot shooter. Aside from craps i stay on the baccarat tables. Made close to 15k just riding a hot streak on banker. I have also tried to bet against the streak and got raped, but haven't lost any huge amount 4-5k loss at most.

this thread has potential - i love hearing about people's "systems"

I think we just had a gambling thread...but like i said in there - poker is my main passion....i play the other games for fun

i'll touch everything in the casino if im feeling it (still learning the games in the predominately Asian pits- pai gow poker, mini bacc, bacc etc) kinda scared of those aint gonna front -

craps is fun when feeling nice and wanting to throw some $ around, blackjack can be fun but alot of times esp at lower limits dudes get all pissy when you do something "wrong"
laugh.gif
i usually remind them that its a $5 table and i really dgaf

i'll hit a slot or 2 when im walking by and they "call" me -

oh and War? yea like the game you used to play at the lunch table- i thought my dude was joking when he would always say he was goin to play war...till a couple trips ago i actually saw it and played ...i just had to sit there and
smh.gif
i lost like $50 messing around but i seen dudes dropping hundred after hundred....playing I DECLARE WAR
laugh.gif
crazy to me

All I ever do is poker...unless I'm really tilted then I'll blow like 50 bucks on a wheel of fortune slot machine so I can clap and yell 'big money!' when I get a bonus spin.

There are a reason there are countless casinos all over the place, with poker you are only paying the rake, and most of the time the players that are playing against you are absolutely terrible (you need to know what your doing obviously)

I spoke with a Roulette dealer recently and asked him what his best advice was. He said as long as you have a good bankroll, pick 1 number and play that number all night. Don't switch it up, that's your best bet.

I'm a LIFER. Gambling is what I do.
laugh.gif

At the casinos I normally bet sports, play blackjack, craps and poker.

Just got back from Vegas this past weekend and actually lost at blackjack for once in a VERY long time... But I had my girl play along my side and she won back everything I lost and then some.
laugh.gif

Don't you guys love those BJ hands where you time it perfect and bet big cause you feel good about the next hand and get a double down opportunity as well??? My girl put out $100 on a hand and got dealt 7,4. Doubled that down and got dealt an Ace but dealer proceeds to bust and make it an easy win. Those "good feelings" are actually me counting cards BTW but that's another story all together.
laugh.gif

Also, what's good with those pit bosses replenishing chips at the table in the middle of a shoe in BJ??? I notice they always do it when the table gets hot. Casinos be trying to player hate for real.
smh.gif

But here's a few things you guys have to consider when gambling:

- The house will always have an advantage especially when it comes to money because their bankroll is endless and most of us that gamble have a limit... Therefore they can ride the cold streaks cause when the casinos/dealers start to lose the table gets replenished with chips anyway.  So manage your money WISELY.
- Always set limits... If you lose a certain amount don't go chasing. Only gamble what you can afford to lose, Realest talk.
- Never gamble when you're mad/emotional about some %$*$... Bringing feelings to the table is never a good look and will lead to bad decision making at the table.
laugh.gif

- Be prepared mentally to LOSE and LOSE over and over again... It wouldn't be called gambling if you win all the time. That's where money management comes into play though, The better you manage your money the easier it is to deal with losing.

That's all I can come up with for now... I'll post some strategic tips and answer whatever questions I can later tho.

GOOD LUCK!!!
