Thanks for the pics Dre...I wonder when this "lifestyle" push will occur for And1.

More pics of the Triangle....such an AWESOME shoe.

I'm about 20 pounds lighter than you. I've had a pair since april and their fine still. but, I only wear them in league games so I can't say I've really given them a hard core durability test. I pretty much save them for courts that are dusty and other shoes slip on.

the traction is amazing, and they are light. there's not a ton of cushion but I have not felt bottoming out. plus the foam has broken in nicely and molded to the shape of my foot.
"i will slap someone if i ever see anyone wear them and try to stunt wit them" -masterani3

Can I still get chosen1's in size 13 anywhere? New, used, any color ever made? Hell I'd trade for some of my pe's if someone has a stash hiddenaway somewhere.

^I really like how they brought that joint along...

Cushioning is amazing and transistion is seamless...The lining was very comfortable as well. Heel lockdown was defnitely a strength too, as the heel plugensured no side-to-side movement. Breathability was an issue however...

And of course, I don't really like to pay full price on any shoe nowadays...They're up for $90.00 on Shoebuy.com which usually discounts their shoesbig-time. I did a quick search for coupons, but couldn't find much. If anyone has a code/discount, post it up.

And I really can't decide whether to grab these or the Onslaughts. I really love them both. What do you guys think?

Peace.

Do you know anything about the traction? After my last 3 And 1's, I have given up on them unless I can try them on in a store, give that little kickthe ground kind of move and they make the squeak noise

^Sorry, I can't help you much there. They've changed the traction pattern since I've played in my pair. I'm a bit worried though because theheel tread goes from front to back instead of side to side. The durometer on my pair was pretty tough too, which lends more to a shoe's durability whilesacrifcing indoors grip a bit. I think Shoemall has a free shipping code--and yes, I know it is a hassle--but you could probably return ship them if youdon't like them.

In terms of traction, I'm much more excited about the Onslaught. The durometer is sticky like that of the Edge.

Hope this helps,

Peace.

^ Shoebuy has 20$ off 50 or more if u use paypal, code PAYPAL20. If that codes still around after xmas, I'm copping

edit: those aren't on shoebuy

Hey JButta,

Thats great to hear about the traction on the Onslaught, you can almost see that its sticky.

What is and1 using in terms of forefoot cushion for the Onslaught? How'd you find the cusioning up front?

I'm assming the Wonder mid is the same in terms of cushioning setup?

D-They're on Shoemall.com for $90...My bad.

. Unlike Zappos, that site actually puts their shoes on sale. They had 5-6 sizes of the black/black Vapor available about a month ago for $30. I'm hopingthe same situation happens with the Intrevals.

Storm-I haven't played in the Onslaughts yet, but the Wonder Mid employs the same cushioning setup, traction pattern, and segmentedforefoot.

The traction is great indoors if you play on a relatively clean floor, but as you'd expect with any translucent outsole, I noticed some slippage laterallywhen the circular groovies dirtied.

Heel cushion was incredible, thanks to the L2G Heel Gel. Up front, And1 employed a molded EVA compound to help cut down on weight (plus it worked nicely withthe forefoot flex zone). Compared to the L2G, this forefoot configuration felt pretty firm.

My only problem with the Wonder is the TPU Skeleton. While it works very well visually and pushes the design along nicely, it's incedibly stiff and tookabout 7 active wearings to break in.

famous footwear has that triangle mid from a page back online. they often have sales, seems to vary week to week.

nice looking shoe, i'd like to try them on.

The Triangle is a great shoe for guards who need a breathable shoe with nice traction. Cushioning isn't a strongpoint however, so if you like something abit 'bouncier' you should pass.

I did a 'full review' on these for Bounce Magazine's online website in early November. Of course, the majority of our readers don't really careabout the difference between a CMEVA Midsole or an IMEVA Midsole, so it isn't as tech. heavy as one of Nick's reviews at Sole Collector. Bob is doingthe majority of my editing (he's SO busy), so I like to keep everything concise....I've been meaning to post up a review for some time now. Anyways, tell me what you think..rip it apart if you'd like, or request any improvements.

Thanks.

P.S.- B1lly has a review of the Onslaught coming up in the newest S0le Collector that I'm very excited to look into..

Peace.

lol. that avatar you've chosen looks familiar. guess it's the highest form of flattery.

Congrats on working for bounce. How did you get that gig? Bobbito seems super cool. his book "where'd you get those" is a favorite of mine. hehits almost every nail right on the head the same as I remember... from appreciating purple shoes to calling off brands "skippys"... which is veryodd seeing as we grew up in different worlds.

how are those triangles under the forefoot? more or less than the edge mids? because anything less, would be uncivilized.

oh, and you should post link to your reviews in the review sections. maybe offer part of it as a teaser and then the link. lord knows there arent nearlyenough reviews in there.

Yeah...I didn't want to post a picture of myself, so I thoughtI'd rep Naismith...I couldn't find a better picture of the dude.

As for getting the job...I e-mailed him a few years back after reading his book...In the e-mail I told him about some shoes I was digging at the time (I thinkthey were the a3 Superstars). He agreed on almost every sneaker I mentioned. Over the past few years, we've e-mailed each other with shoes we like, rap,his AF1 designs etc.

And the Triangles have much more cush. under the forefoot than the Edge. Traction is also great on all surfaces I've played on. Generally, tractionalpatterns with shapes work best for me.

Peace.

I've played in these for about a week now, and they are sensational on hardwood. In fact, I have enjoyed playing in these more than any other shoe I haveworn in a long while. From the outset, the Onslaught was very malleable and flexible underfoot, while the layered mesh shell did everything to keep my feetdry. I might post up a review on these after a few more hours of hoop. Speaking of reviews, I'd like to generate new discussion on some other And1offerings I have played in. Though not perfect, the Franchise, Vapor, and Edge all offer decent peformance in compelling visual packages.

On a different note, a designer friend of mine informed me that And1 will halt fashioning their upper end product division in Summer/Fall of 2008. Is thisaccurate? I have never dealt or worked with anyone from And1 before, so any information would be appreciated.

^ I'm working on a farewell article on And1 right now...but indeed they closed their Portland-based office where all Design took place. Look for them toscale down to doing shoes in the <$65 range.

B1lly- I really look forward to reading that, though I hope it doesn't read like an obituary of sorts. I know there's been plenty of indignation amongcertain members of the company. Personally, I think And 1 vastly improved their product line with their technological revamp (though judging from the other And1 thread, many people favored the Tai Chi--which incorporates a look of classicism, but to me doesn't compare performance wise to the Onslaught or Edge.)and pioneered by pushing basketball footwear in a completely new performance-driven aesthetic division. Call me mundane, but I didn't think a shoe like theVapor, Edge, or Franchise could've been conceived until I saw them. I think it's interesting that other brands are following And 1 with theirfeatherweight-themed footwear. The Kobe Three, Lightspeed, Zoom BB, and Hyperdunk are all predicated on a theme of diminutive design. Let's hope that thislast batch of higher-end stuff this Spring is awesome.

Here's just a sampling of my favorite And1 designs over the past couple years-
