Homeland writers are slowly turning Carrie into Sookie. Everyone wants a ride on that magic carpet. :x  :smh:

I am going to be in the minority on this one.
I thought the Season Finale was perfect. ( glad it was over 50 minutes too)

I wasn't expecting some opening action scene from straight out of SOA either though.
Everybody was expecting the typical action and drama Homeland has been providing all season. Not anything from any other show.
Yeah, the tape leaking would've raised questions about Saul's competency being CIA director again.

The way they were talking about the tape you'd think Saul use play ball or shoot pool with Haqqani while he was captured.
The way they were talking had me thinking Saul and Haqqani eiffel tower a girl. :nerd:
 @ both of yall.

They did make it seem more damaging than it was like Saul was some turncoat, but a guy being a bargaining chip for terrorists turning around to be the chief of the CIA isn't smart at all. I was still expecting them to release the tape sorta how when Brody did his tape, didn't go through with the plan, and then they release his tape anyway.
i dont understand how dar adal is black ops super chief but cant find quinn, esp when he shows up at carrie's dad's funeral

on top of that, the secret ops guy can find him no problem, but when quinn ships out, dar somehow isnt notified?

or am i just not understanding, and that mission they were going on is in fact what dar adal wanted quinn for?
Dar knew Quinn was back in the states just not where. He was playing games most likely when he approached Carrie. I think he just wanted to check and see if Carrie was gonna lie and act funny. It's possible after that he just said let me send one of Quinn's killer buddies instead asking him to come back in for another mission.

I'm pretty sure it's Dar running all of those ops anyway. The guy probably searched in Quinn's typical spots. So when one of Quinn's secret agent friends finds him it's not an aggressive reaction like it probably would be with Dar. He was pretty polite saying no.

Only thing brought up I'm hoping is that Quinn wasn't at the same motel he was earlier this season  If so then Dar is just dumb.
episode was pretty weak.

why carrie look older than her moms tho

Definitely don't see that :x

I'm still confused as hell. Don't know what last night's epi was about. Will have to re-watch it. So Dar wants Saul to lead them? For what? What does he get out of it? Was he kind of threatening Saul with the tape? Didn't Haqqani broadcast that tape on Islamabad national tv or something? I thought somehow after Haqqani was touring with Saul all around town for people to see, He would have gotten photographed at least by some people and word would spread that the ex head of the CIA was captured .

i meant like was haqqani always nazir's #2? are they even from the same country? i thought nazir was iraq/al queda? isnt haqqani taliban?
when i said notified, i meant like prior to them taking off, dar would have to know that quinn had showed up and accepted the mission right?

i was just under the impression that dar wanted like a face to face with quinn, like to talk about something else not to send him on a random mission
yea it look like the same hotel, but quinn had a house too. why didnt dar check there until after he had already left? i would think they'd stake out everywhere looking for him, which leads me back to how didnt dar see him at carries dad's funeral? did dar really not attend?

Fast forwarded most of the ep :smh:

And was there ever any hint of Quinn being thirsty for Carrie in past seasons? Them kissing made no damn sense to me. And Quinn really trying to wife that eventhough he knows the freshman was tappin that numerous times? :smh:

Also didnt even know the actor who played Carrie's father died IRL.RIP :frown:

A bit underwhelmed, like most, but I'm trying to look at the big picture and that's probably the Haqqani storyline spread over 2 season.  Great action and suspense during S4, but this finale felt like a lead-in into S5... Quinn going off to some black-ops mission... Dar's mysterious relationship with Haqqani and how Saul plays into it.  Just trying to make sense of this and that's the vibe I'm getting.

Anyway...

Yea that's a reach  carrie mom looked old as ****

But man did she have the WAGON!

At first I was kind of disappointed by the slow pacing of the finale but it was nicely done. We get another potential season of Haqqani and that evil ISIS chick. I can't wait to see her get her comeuppance. And they can surely drag out another season of her being a pain in the *** before that happens.

Random but how are British actors able to do american voices so well but an American can't do a proper British voice for ****.

Had no idea quinn was British....McNaulty from the wire is too...also the lil gangster from boardwalk empire

I mean yea but they can kill their accent to the point that you would have no idea they were British. Guess that is why they're acting in these premium shows/movies

dont mind me...just some random **** I find cool

^

Best southern accent by a non American goes to my man Jason Stackhouse. Hearing his real accent was one of the more truly mind blowing moments of my life

 true ...honestly idk what region his sounded like but I was surprised when I heard his real accent

I'm guessing he probably wasn't but I was leaving it open before the finale to say it's possible there was a bigger plan set in place that Nazir couldn't stick to and Haqqani came along and picked it up.

They're definitely from different countries not sure exactly which (already forget what country Brody was tortured and then allowed to live in with Nazir) and going off what Dar said in the finale Haqqani is in some other group who see Al Queada as a threat. I was mainly going off what they said in the ep when they did the trade when they got the list of prisoners Haqqani wanted and basically saying it's obvious he was planning on uniting all of the tribes. Now in the real world I'm not even sure if all these different terroist groups oppose each other that much so I'm not sure how it'd be on the show. So when they say tribes I dunno if they mean different terrorist cells in the mountains of that country, Pakistan, or all of terrorist groups in the middle east.

It all really depends when Quinn got back to the DMV area. Dar could've checked all those places and Quinn simply wasn't back yet or laying low. We know he comes out the shadows when he shows up at the funeral. So maybe at that point he shows back up at the motel/hotel. Dar could've had dudes watching there or watching Carrie's house and then maybe at that time Dar was away on some other business (like getting the little thumb file of Saul's video) and just sent one of the guys on the team to get Quinn.

Man I never had a problem with McNulty's accent  I actually liked it. It wasn't like he was constantly struggling with not sounding British. Dude sounded like some white guy I've heard before.

Maybe he (McNulty the character) was from Rhode Island.
LOL. Check out Punisher Warzone for Dominick West's other effort at an American accent.
Just watch The Affair after Homeland, he sounds American to me damnit  :smh:
