Hmmm I'm tempted to say size down? I went TTS, I'm lean/skinny but I got football butt and monstrous calves. Was surprised when I didn't have to size up.

After doing some research in this thread and other places, I finally went and bit the bullet and got some A.P.C NS. Tried them on and as soon as I did I knew I couldn't go back to my raggity old 508s. Getting them tailored just a bit length wise and picking them up saturday. Can't wait to start breaking them in.

how many szs did you go down?

My waist is a true 31, usually wear a 33 in Levi's because I have big f***in legs (amateur bodybuilder) but I went 31 in the APC NS and they were very snug, just how I wanted them to start out. So, long story short, two sizes.
are they snug around your quads? i have the same problem small waist but cant get my quads through

I laugh when someone rustles jimmies and comments on how the ripped up jeans in the designer clothing thread look like some abercrombie jeans. I think abercrombie's jean washes actually look better aesthetically than the the washes of those $7-800 jeans. For that price I expect them to look a lot better.

Anyone know of a good denim tailor in sf that will be relatively affordable for tapering legs?

Oh no you're probably right I read too fast.

Are denim alterations generally more expensive than other pant fabrics?

I just picked up a couple pairs that I had tappered at Taraval Cleaners. He did a great job, charged $30 a piece to taper from the inseam (I think it's $25 regularly). Had pretty good revues, apparently he was a tailor at Nordstrom for 15 years.

it was my first time going there and I'm pretty happy with the result.

So if I want a pair of selvedge jeans tapered always from inseam right ? I'm tryna locate a good tailor now in Baltimore

Yes, and make sure you stress that. Last thing you want is to pick them up and the selvedge is cut off

In SF right? I might have to go there. My normal spot downtown charged me close to $50 for mine and it was done on some Levis that I figured to just get custom fitted instead of buying a new pair. I feel like if I take my N&F pair there, they will charge me more.

Yup, right off of 19th on Taraval. Damn, $50 just for a taper? Definitely check this place out. Those downtown spots try to price gauge people, probably to cover their overhead
