2012 NBA MVP Thread

after one game

No, it hasn't been one game. It's been 2 straight months of this. He's shooting 40% since Feb. 1st. This is becoming the norm now.

Are you really asking this after a recent loss? You can't be serious. Aint nobody pretending.

Like after the OKC loss this is the time to ask again when dudes were just saying Bynum isn't more valuable than Kobe hours before?

This game with Raptors is precisely crystallizing why LeBron James is the one true MVP, not only is as good as any offensive player in the league, but on nights where a 7 foot tall PF, Andrea Bargnani is cooking and ties the game with 4 minutes left, Spo puts LeBron on Bargs and LeBron proceeds to essentially remove him from this earth, and the heat promptly go up 10.

This is the clutch stuff that is not eminently obvious to people who don't actually understand the game of basketball, he is the only person in the league that in the last 5 minutes of a game you put on any player besides Dwight Howard and completely take them out.

Is it an argument that Durant, maybe he is a better scorer? Yeah maybe, but MVP? the only reasonable answer is LeBron anything else would be a travesty and would only prove that the MVP should just be changed to, the offensive player we like the most award.

Lebron...Much more rounded than Durant, who shoots 10 more shots than Lebron a game, and averages less than a point more.

Stern likes to give out the trophy during the Conference Finals, Wolves aren't touching that.......btw this isn't baseball, MV usually goes to the best player on the best team in a given season, Heat don't lead the East' Lebron exposing himself as anti clutch will not gain him a 3rd MVP2012 MVP Kevin Durant...... end of Story......

It was against the Raptors and Bargnani  is soft as @$^&  Lets not forget about Wade and Bosh combining for 60 points, shooting 62 FGPCT, 14 REBS, 9 AST, 3 STLS and +33.

Yeah Lebron does it all by himself

Hes the defintion of a front runner and til he comes thru in the clutch, he cant be my MVP

Wow OKB's post did not in any way imply that LeBron does it all by himself. It wasn't even about the Heat winning the game. So you bringing up Wade and Bosh is irrelevant. He was talking about LeBron's defensive prowess and how effective he is on that end of the court, making him the much more valuable player when you consider that he can score with the best of them. Soft or not he's been shutting guys down when it's needed for his team in a close game like that.

Well Josh Smith and Andre Iguodala are versatile and or valuable to their teams. Scottie Pippen and Shawn Marion were too but I don't see anybody proclaiming them the MVP.  I'm so sick of these statheads rattling off numbers, watch the games! Lebron is always gonna smash the Raptors, Wizards, Bobcats  and teams of that ilk because theres no pressure. But let a contending team, get up on them and he totally shuts it down...watch those Orlando losses, OKC loss, Laker loss and Clipper losses. Hes a rhythm player and hes gets out of it, hes not gonna push thru it,  hes gonna shut it down

Lebron needs to come thru in the clutch and stop being the biggest front runner in NBA history. No more MVPs til he does that. Heart of a Lion.....my @&^

That might apply for his stint in Miami but you can't front on what he did with the Cav's.

And even last season, Bulls #%%* on Miami in the regular season and then got handled in the playoffs.. Largely down to Bron.

We'll see how it plays out this year though.

Osh, after Lebron locked down Andrea Bargnani  (giggles)  and made your case for MVP

Why he ain't guard Triple Double on Sunday to help make your case again?

Meanwhile, Durant keeps rollin on.........

None of this makes a damn bit of difference, but since Osh always gets upset with folks bringing up ONE game, I thought it was odd seein him race in here all excited about Lebron lockin down Toronto's best player.

I hope that we get a GREAT performance from both Bron and KD on Wed.  Possible precursor to their Finals matchup.

Because the Heat couldn't?
