I really need to get back out fishing again [emoji]128534[/emoji]

Went in my tackle box the other day for a pair of needle nose pliers. Made me feel guilty I've been neglecting one of my favorite hobbies :smh:

Heading out for a Musky Hunt on Lake St Clair Monday.

Hopefully I will have photos to share, but with Musky fishing nothing is guaranteed.

Will start throwing buck tails, and see if we can come up with a pattern along weed edges. We will troll some big crank sits and cast some Bulldawgs and Medusas as well. Should be a blast.

Thinking about night fishing tonight. Idc what I catch as long as I catch something. Tips?

NT fam, the only fish I caught in my life was when I was 7 and I was visiting the river with my dad. We saw a guy there fishing and he actually let me try it. I caught something (can't remember what it was), but never actually touched a reel until last year when we went out to the bridge and also the pier. I caught nothing except rocks, so about two weeks ago I went with some coworkers. Saw mullet, BIG mullet, jumping out of the water and that was all we saw. We didn't have a net so we didn't really aim to catch them. We still casted our lines and something was biting because our shrimp bait was half eaten lol basically, how can I actually catch something? I just want to be able to catch one fish :frown:

Used to go fishing somewhat frequently with my dad when I was younger. Managed to catch a large European eel without help when I was around 9 or 10 if I recall correctly. Great memory, I live in a small rural town so word spread fast and it was like I was the king of the town for a while after that catch

I'd like to pick it up as a hobby again at some point in the future when my health is doing a bit better. There's not many large fish here in my area unless you venture onto the sea or the southern part of Belgium. The trophy catches in my area are mostly just the european eel, northern pike and carp.

I haven't had smoked eel yet, that's a Netherlands classic. Eel is also one of our national dishes though.

They were quite a rare catch even back then when I caught one, it's pretty much an endangered species now.

Smoked eel is :smokin Haven't had it in a long time but I haven't been out to catch eels since I was in HS with my stepdad. But when someone knows how to do it it's unbelievable as disgusting and nasty as they might look.
