these catalog/3d renderings really do no justice to the great detail in these shoes.

im willing to check out the 07s in order to better gauge the technological jump with the new 08s

Haven't worn them, but just wanted to give a head's up... Nike's website often says "the item is not in stock" for itemsthat haven't been released yet, so I'm doubting they're sold out already. I think that colorway is actually the third one slated to come out.

Good find on the actual pic wallyhopp, I'm def picking up a pair when they release.....

..in MARCH

The 07's were a lightweight, comfortable, all around shoe, everything a trainer should be.

Based on online availability, they sold pretty well for a trainer and IMO they have altered them for the better, kept the full length air and updated theupper.

The 07 edition would win my "Best Value" award for last year.

Do you know I like this shoe yet?

I'm still mad that I never pulled the trigger on the 10//2 editions;

Also, I wasn't sure about these pair but after seeing some pics of the 1990 trainers again, this green is ALMOST perfect.

Hey Wall - I agree with Jonas Dee, the Edge Trainer is a solid, solid workout shoe. You can snag them for $40 now at Nordstroms racks and on the back walls ofoutlets.

Thanks for the info and clarifications, markyd33psu. I am also a distance runner, running my first marathon this October (Chicago). I have done half marathonsand intermediate races in the time being.

Last year I ran in the Structure Triax 9 and 10, then wore the Zoom Elite 2 on race day. The Zoom Elite rocks. I know the 2006 model was Runner's World toprated shoe. I jumped on board in '07 with no regrets.

I stick with the ST's year in and year out thought because they are solid stability shoes. I have had plantar fasciatis in both my feet, so I need all thestability I can get. The ST 10 Clima is an awesome outdoor shoe if you like the ST's stability for an outdoor elements shoe.

Markyd33psu, how do you like the Equalon 2's (below)? So far I like them. I grabbed pair recently and have been running on them indoors, have yet to trythem on pavement. How do you think they compare to the AZE or the ST?

ive been comtemplating transitioning from a daily runner to trying out a half marathon or something.

why change from what you've trained in? is this generally a good idea/common practice?

been really looking at grabbng a pair of zoom elites.

giving the zoom hayward a glance as well.

ive run mainly motos and a couple pegasus for years but im just looking at trying something new.

I like them a lot... the Cushlon foam that they used instead of Phylon is a lot softer than the AST 10's, so it all comes down to what you like. Somepeople like a firmer ride, but I like the softness a lot. They're particularly good if you're a regular heel-striker... the "pod" setup inthe crash pad really makes for a great transition from heel strike through the rest of your gait. I'd say that they're slightly more supportive thanthe AST 10's, but not by much.. the Equalon 1 was actually a lot more of a motion control shoe, and these are more of a stability+ shoe with tons ofcushioning. I love the Elite though too, but its a totally different kind of shoe. I'd definitely consider it for a race day or speed work, but I'vemostly just been doing long runs lately.

When you do end up taking them outdoors E2's outside by the way, you'll probably be pleasantly surprised... they make for a pretty plush ride, evenon pavement. It basically feels like running with a firmer shoe on a track.

And Clutch... it's all personal preference. Some people like to stay consistent with what they're accustomed to on race day, and some people liketo use a lighter, faster shoe to boost their performance a little bit. Going from a Structure Triax shoe to a Zoom Elite isn't a huge jump... it'sstill a moderate support shoe, but its just a little slimmer.

any experience with the Nike Zoom RS or Nike Air Zoom Hayward?

Last year's hayward got great reviews on runners world but this year's version seems to be heading in an entirely different direction.

The older Hayward's and the Pegasus T/C were basically replaced by the current Skylon. The new Haywards went the way of the Zoom RS / Jasari, butthey're more flexible apparently. I've never tried the RS or Jasari, so I'm really not sure how great they are.

The Victory looks like it could have something going for it. The Vom 2 was great, so I hope they didn't do too much to change the shoe. The larger flexgrooves could be nice. The upper/mid-panel reminds me of a cheaper shoe they produced a couple of years ago...

Why on earth would you make a + ready racing flat, though? Ascetically the shoe isn't that appealing and seem really chunky, even taking insoles depththat someone mentioned earlier.

Markyd you seem to know a good amount about the 08 stuff. Any idea if the Vom 3 has a shank(can't see one...) or what the weight of the lunar and lunartrainer is?

I don't know the weights of the lunar shoes, but the Vomero 3 does have a shank on the medial half of the shoe.

I've been running ever since college, whether it be for practice or during the academy. I always ran in shox ( i loved the shox monster, please bring itback) or my air max 360s just because I guess I didn't know better. I try to get in 3 to 5 miles about 3 times per week and its all road work. I'm5'10 190, but ripped. What should I get that will make me enjoy running more? Should I go to a store and get properly fitted. Charm City Run is our bigtime running store around here. I might not have the time to with work so if anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them.

Oh and please bring back the red and black shox monsters. I loved them.

I'm good with whats coming out for spring and summer but what I really want is a better selection of cold weather runners.

This years pegasus clima and structure gtx were great but some more colors would be nice.

I remember when you would get multiple colors of the storm pegasus throughout the year. One of my all time favorites btw.

^I love the the blk/red-speckle storm pegasus 02's, I wore mine just about everyday through the rainy Oregon winter a few years back.

The outsole looks nice on the Vomeros. Kinda freaked me out that when I couldn't see the shank on the lateral profile. Looks like they didn't tinkerwith it too much. The deeper flex grooves will be a nice touch.

went shopping for runners today, didnt come away with anything yet but tried on pegasus while i was there. a little too firm for my liking but i liked thedesign,

found the kayano 13 quite nice but had to go a full size down to get the fit i wanted. (what do you guys know about the new gel kinetic model? looks verysimilar to the kinsei )

also tried out the free 7.0, not my cup of tea, surprising since i enjoy the original 5.0 so much.

I haven't tried on the kinetic, but I do have a pair of the new Kinsei 2s and man are they awesome. So much better than the original kinsei it isunbelievable!

It'd be nice if every running shoe produced by every single company didn't have metallic silver. Some orignality would be cool, but I guess that'sbecause silvers associated with speed and sleek-ness...

It's also typically reflective, which is a good safety measure for early morning and late evening runners.

So a friend of mine works at Under Armour and its no secret that they have The Prototype trainers coming out in the spring. I was told that they are going tomake a big push with superbowl commercials which feature Ray Lewis (why nike didn't snag him I'll never know) Vernon Davis, Soriano, etc.

I also read in the article that nike will be coming out with trainers to compete with the release of the prototype. Are these the next generation of Free? orsomething we really haven't seen yet?
