Buy my Lanvins, Rob. They only fit me with thick camp socks :frown:

I'm on purge mode. Dropped off 15 pairs of kicks this morning at Rif. Two more next week.

Ps thanks to all who gave suggestions in this regards

the prices are all jacked up right now. not worth it even with the 40 off
I think J. Crew has better sales. Pretty excited I picked up a seersucker jacket for $105 today.

I mentioned about trying to stay in shape to be able to enjoy the clothing for years to come a while back. I have a friend who's in his late 30s now. Dude is hitting midlife crisis or something. He wants to get brolic and he's been adding lean mass. $20k+ worth of clothing no longer fit him

The streets are waiting for some pics of wisiths closet

What streets are these, b?

It's ordinary. I don't plan on making a closet picture worthy until I actually own a home. I just have sweaters and knits of fine fabrics in boxes on top with moth repellant packets. Shoe boxes on bottom. The rest on hangers.

I understand its the principle but youre gonna get those same creases the first time you wear them anyway, why go through the trouble?
Yeah, no.  Those are nothing like typical creases that come with wear.  It's like a 2nd quality and like I said, I'd rather pay less for a pair of AE 2nds.

Agreed with J. Crew sale being decent this time. Bought the cords in acorn for $26 shipped, not bad. I've lately been getting into wearing cords more and more often. It's a nice middle ground; at least for me, between casual (denim) and dressy (trousers).

There's a lot that falls under middle ground if you want biz cas...duck canvass, brushed twill, and moleskin come to mind.

Fam those "wrinkles" are in the same spot a crease would be after using them ONCE. You serious.

i dont think you are looking at the right thing. i think he is talking about two that run almost along the length of the shoe.

One way to look at it is that you got those shoes on a sale that you were never really supposed to have access to.

It be like that sometimes.

im definitely considering those lanvins wis lol
Let me know, man. I'll eat the shipping. It sucks because the hightops in the same size fit me nicely. :frown: I'll throw in some test tubes from work and a couple of drawing needles for you too, both straight and butterfly

DBNT b like.

AE and j crew are aight...on deep deep discount

It's true though. J. Crew is still making good profit at these discounted prices because they buy in such large orders. I mean, there's a few items like those tapered sweats where we talked about that I paid near retail for, and don't regret it.

This is why a lot of folks on SF stick with home grown brands that the public has never heard of. The price to quality ratio is a lot greater.

For example: there's a brand called Band of Outsiders, they make decent clothing, but mark ups are so high. Their shirts are made at a factory 10 miles from my house and it probably costs them $40 to make one (per what an insider told me). Shirt is selling at over $150+ so even at a discount, they're eating.

It's the whole perception of it. My 10th grade history teacher put it best. If I really want 4 pieces of turkey for dinner, I'm going to tell my wife I want 7 so she can counter with 4..which is what I wanted in the first place. There are brands that are cheaply made with high MSRPs that often go on sale, and folks love that.

Btw anyone know of slacks that fit like Gap skinny (super skinny)? They arent really super skinny at all, a lot like 511's, maybe a tad looser but hands down the best dress pants for work ive used. They gave them online on sale but none in the length for me.

I figure id take the L and go with some HM slacks but surprisingly they only have regular fit.

Express maybe?

Been wanting some moleskin but haven't had luck finding moleskin trousers. Duck canvas I'e only seen from Epaulet though.

DBNT, please vote for my waffle truck so we can win this contest and go to the KTown Night Market.

You can vote once every 24 hours, so if you can keep voting till April 6th, that would be greatly appreciated. The link to vote is http://bit.ly/1jxPNmw.

Thanks for reading DBNT

*reps to those who vote :D

Barbour makes a nice pair. I thrifted a new pair a few months ago, very nice trousers (especially at the $5 thrift store price )
Barbour is a great heritage brand.

For those who's in the know about the AE 2 for $250 deal, do they have shoes with rubber soles? If so, will pick up some to wear in the rain as beaters so I can retire my BR joints.

Oh snaps.

My fault fams, yeah that would bother me no lie lol.

Yeah, picture doesn't even show it well enough either.  I wouldn't think twice about those minor little normal creases which were just from them flexing, that's gonna happen as soon as you put your foot in them.  I was just surprised that something like that passed quality control.

I hear you.  Don't get me wrong, they're really nice overall but continuing what I was saying, I couldn't believe that's something they'd put out at $650 retail.  I'm blanking out on the modek name but I got a pair of RL wingtips from that AE sale last summer/fall that were like $125 and they were flawless.  If anything I was pointing it out as a matter of RL's quality.  ****, maybe they saw the discounted price and picked a pair off the bottom shelf they've got reserved for sales.
