Dressing Better Vol 2.0

Felt like I robbed my local banana republics today

They were running 30% off sale + spend $100 get $50 off

Ended up with 2 blazers, a pair of khakis, a dress shirt, some dress socks and boxers for $100. Sale ends tomorrow, check yours

Went in to get two shirts, white and light blue Oxford cloth. I got the two I have from BR like 5 years ago so they're ripping from wear. Happy to see the fit is the same but the store is just as boring as the last time I stepped into it. Retail prices are outrageous. With the promos, each shirt came to $44. Nothing else really stood out.

I only messed with the items that were only on sale to take advantage of the 30% off.

Did some last minute damage while waiting for dinner at the mall

Two pairs of pants and a pair of shoes for $100 total. Love the Aiden fit :pimp:

I agree that the retail prices are outrageous. That's why I rarely shop there. But I'm starting a new job in two weeks and needed some work clothes, this deal was a no brainer.

Side note: I had orientation week a few days ago. And it's crazy how the "dressing better" employees have this feel of leadership and management around them. We're all new hires but it's evident that those dudes were percieved "above" everyone else if that makes sense

I swore by BR at the start of the first thread. But I switched to J. Crew because the sales are a lot better and so is the customer service. The three branches I hit up often, the managers have given me their personal numbers to aid with ordering.

yea J.Crew final sale has held me down nicely over the last few weeks.  Pulled the trigger on a bunch more today

if i do cop im going with the bball highs
For sure, man. I think it suits us sneakerheads/former sneakerheads nicely. Would look awesome with stacked jeans. It's not a hit with the majority of those folks because of this reason.

Not sure how the patina will wear with you though since you won't be beating them up much. I was told they can turn a medium brown with enough wears.

yea thats the thing. i will barely be able to wear these as it is. but i'll try my best with the GATs

Yes they can. I've done this plenty of times. I have 6 or so items coming in the mail.

This was in store. Half off the sale price and student discount.

I tried to stack and they also told me I couldn't do it because the entire store was on sale, not just certain items. Didn't make sense to me, but I wasn't in the mood to hustle. Seems like it's luck in terms of the employee letting you stack. Also, I don't think my store had the 6.5" 484s yet.

It's honestly the store you go to that will allow you to stack the student discount at jcrew. Down here in the oc south coast plaza jcrew always allows it but this one in mission Viejo doesnt

I only have expired student ids, don't even remember my email addresses.

It's all about building rapport. I've never been turned down before for the student discount except for once. And that time, I asked to speak to the manager and told her that other branches always let me use the discount. She honored it and talked for a while after.

Some of them go beyond their way to help me out, like giving me generous discount or free overnight shipping. Maybe it's because I just like talking to folks. I'll talk to them about whatever, the floral shirt they have on, the music selection in the store, etc. This is just before trying to get their 'help', but rather just socializing.

When I ask for the student discount, most of the times they don't even ask for my ID and just scan the bar code for the discount.

Site note: some of these J. Crew chicks are really dope looking  :pimp:

All of this.  I've never paid for shipping either.  Just call them up and give them the sale/product number.  I've heard 'this is a one time thing' like 50 times when it comes to waiving shipping.  Not even building a rapport, more so just asking for what YOU want as the consumer.

Yeah I hear you. I'm only in town for the summer so it was my first time in there. I actually had a decent conversation about New Balances with the guy after he admired mine. I think next time I go in he might remember me and hook it up. My stores back home always look out for me.

What wallets are tall using. I'm having trouble just finding a regular tan leather bi fold for a decent price
