How I Met Your Mother Post Series Discussion. Rustled Jimmies to the Maximum

Someone who cops the DVD release make sure they upload the alternate ending....

just watched the finale

im happy to see ted and robin ended up together but the way that it happened was pretty lame to me

that ending was weak. also i would have liked to know what happened with barney down the line in his life

The NT clientele is a very tough crowd to please. I should've learned my lesson from the Avengers thread and various sports thread and girl appreciation threads, lol.

Pretty celebrity = average white girl
Record breaking movie = better than average cbm
controversial ending = worst ending ever
very good dunk=ehh
I'm convinced NT logic is anything but; actually it can be classified as mental ******ation a majority of the time.

Off the top of my head, my favorite episodes include:
1. When Barney tells the story of how he became Barney when his girl left him for an a-hole

2. Barney's bachelor party with his ex as the stripper and the karate kid

3. That one episode where Ted and Barney (or was it Marshall?) were telepathically talking to each other about the girl Ted is seeing. Ted thought she was a prostitute.

4. When Ted decides to confront Stella but it really played out in his mind.

5. Robin Sparkles tape

6. Time travelers

7. The pilot

My top episodes off of the top of my head

That episode where Robin was narrating to "her kids" but they didn't exist

Time Travelers

The series finale = P

The final playbook part 2

Slapsgiving with Lily's dad

Marshall's dad dying

Barney's brother finds his dad

The Leap

How Your Mother Met Me

This is just off the top of my head... I can't remember anymore

The ones that played with the structure (more than usual). The subway race, how Ted met everyone, the playbook, etc.

Are they even coming out with the blu ray? I keep hearing dvd release whenever they mention it coming out on video.

yeah, a blu-ray is instant copped.

I didn't have a problem with the ultimate ending my main problem was with the pacing of that episode in scope of the entire season. I get that they were trying to make a point by making a wedding an entire season and having the marriage unravel in 5 minutes, but when you have all of this story left to tell us it just doesn't make sense. The first half hour of the episode could have and should have been three episodes alone so the audience could adjust to the new events and and get atoned to them emotionally so folks could've been prepared for the ending. I felt like they put the story above the audience and didn't consider that TV audiences had invested their time and they just threw it away to make a point that could've been executed far better than they did.

It was a 100% dickish way to end the show not only because they felt like their storytelling prowess was more important than the time people invested, but they also made us root for a guy who tells his kids how in love he is with another woman when for us his wife died two minutes ago.

Said this yesterday to someone who I put on this show, but the episode where Marshalls dad died is a top 5 episode. TV has not hit me in the feels like that in a long time.

And it sets up the following episode where he gets the voicemail, which is some amazing acting from Segel & writing

Swarley has gotta be up there top 10.

Most of my top 10 would be the first 3 seasons  I'd have to think about that.

Since the tidalwave of the final has receded, let's make a list of top episodes that brought you the FEELS. Off the top of my head:

- Nothing Good Happens after 2AM
- Marshall's Dad
- When we meet Wayne Brady's dad (Ben Vereen) and how Barney's mom took on the role as his mom and dad with all the lying she did for his wellbeing.
- The Legendary Barney Proposal
- The Robin Can't Children episode
- The episode where Robin doesn't tell Kumar that she wants to be with Barney and Ted sees Barney return to the apt to clean up the rose petal bed
- The Robin Balloon
- How Your Mother Met Me, with La Vie En Rose at the end.

Yea im soft, come at me bros.

Ya man, I binge watched HIMYM in about a month in the spring of '12 to get caught up to Magician's Code,

and I remember I went straight from Marshall's dad dying to the aftermath and it had me so shook the entire episode up until the voicemail. I had such a fat smile from watching that episode after being left in damn near tears

So damn good.... sooooo ******* good.

As good as the one where Wayne Brady meets his Dad is, the ep where Barney goes to his Dad's house for dinner and the scene where he tries to take down the hoop was too real.

Off the top of my head, Mosbius Designs is one of my favorite episodes.
Also -the belt/third wheel episode.

Night at the Museum and the episode where Lily acts like Omar from the Wire are a few of my faves from the latter seasons.

When Marshall comes through the sewer steam/smoke to "You Give Love A Bad Name" intro was awesome

There's so many great moments in some episodes I wouldn't even consider. Like I wouldn't put the ep where Robin comes back with Enrique top 10 but the scene where they mispronounce his name is up there.

True. There was just too much tomfoolery to count.

- "His name is GALE? bwahahah"
- The New Year's episode and everytime they wanted to start something, Barney plays You Give Love a Bad Name

I binged watched the first 5 seasons in 2010, now its time to just take it slow and let everything in.

p.s. U knew the episode was going to be good when Ranjeet was in it.
