Why does everyone wanna be "rich"?

Money is freedom...if you have enough of it.

For most people though, money is their slave master...it's what wakes them up in the morning. It makes them do things they don't want to do, go places they don't really want to go, and talk to people whom they don't really care to deal with...It drags them away from loved ones and friends, employing their time in the pursuit of it...all in the name of affording themselves some small comfort on this earth.

What if you were free of those pressures?

So, yeah...being rich...the allure isn't difficult to understand.

Now, fame, that is an aspiration that I don't understand at all.

I might have said something similar back in 2012 but in my experience, it takes a certain degree of life long privilege to even ask OP's question.

More or less what I'm talking about. You run into these types all the time in the Bay Area.

"I'm not money motivated. Money doesn't really matter to me, we're all equal in my eyes"

Man the con's to being filthy rich are the snakes. You will never again know if some one is genuine and actually likes you or just wants your money.

"they weren't with you while you were shooting in the gym"

Give me a $100k a year job ($100k buying power from now until retirement) let me pay off my debts and i will be more then content

What's wrong with that?  Many of those people in the bay aren't money motivated they want to make a difference.  They'd be in NYC if they cared about money

thats why smart rich people dont show off their wealth

if you're rolling around in a lambo wearing a full fendo fit then of course people will try and take advantage of you

yes i was

:wow: :wow:
I had no idea

And cats these days just wanna be rich to floss. There's a difference between me and these cats.
I just want a villa in the Costa Rica, so I can smoke my reefer, and enjoy how life's supposed to treat ya. Laid in the shades of the Everglades, finally forever paid, wearing the finest fashions tailors ever made. Me and my team eating Carribean cuisine. I guess being down for so long I'm all in store to see my dreams. But once established we eating lovely, living lavish, like the house of Versailles, Paris. I gotta have this, it's so plush, just to visualize is like a coke rush. It's vivid enough, to make living this a must

Those techies are building these companies to make people's live easiers with technology, that's why most of them don't cash out and continue to work hard after becoming multi millionaires and billionaires.  These aren't the greedy wall street banker types

I'm not being critical I didn't say there was anything wrong with it. My original point was it takes a certain degree of privilege to formulate that mindset in American society in my experience. The Bay Area as a whole is also probably the most privileged region in America so it would make sense for the mindset to be very prevalent here.

You don't have to let everyone know you are super rich though.
