Star Wars Universe Thread: May The 4th Be With You

Everything that comes out now (even mobile games like Star Wars Commander) is now considered cannon unless it's comic relief stuff like the Lego Yoda crap. The Maul comics that are running now are cannon and have actually added alot of stuff to the story already.

the son of Mother Talzin and that Sidious was supposed to take Talzin as his apprentice..... But he betrayed her and took Maul instead.

Disney has for the most part let Lucasfilm do their own thing, but people are saying they're taking what they've learned with the Marvel Cinematic Universe and one upping it with Star Wars. EVERYTHING will be connected.. Of course you can just watch the movies and get the story, but those that read the novels, comics, play the games, etc will get that much more from the universe.

One of the rumors for the ST has been the involvement of the Dathomiran witches, and Talzin hasn't been killed off yet... neither has Ventress for that matter, even tho she was walking that grey path last we saw her. Both were potential Sith apprentices. If they were to appear in the ST, they could explain them as powerful force users from the Clone wars to people who aren't familiar with them, and for those who know the new cannon EU seeing them will be even more rewarding... They'll know their potential.

So there are rumors that one of the stand alone films is going to be Obi-Wan.

I wish we could get a Dooku stand alone with Qui-Gon and Dooku's turn to the dark side.

Obi-Wan movie would be boring imo, barring a catchy phrase or two. On top of that they'll probably have to introduce a new "bad guy" which with all the "intra-connectivity" could be an issue. Meaning they'll have to bend/change the cannon even more. 

Talking of spin-offs i'd be curious about a Rogue Squadron story. I know it's not official anymore, but still...

I commend JJ Abrams on using props and locations instead of all green screen. If only this original style of shooting was used in Episodes 1-3.

One thing I kind of hope for, let's give these guys actual dangerousness.

In 77, Obi Wan mentions how accurate their shots were, how precise, and for the next 3 movies those idiots couldn't hit **** except Leia's shoulder.


If JJ does anything, I hope he shows these dudes are bad *** and let them get some shots off.

Yeah. I have a few comics were the Imperial Guards are shown in action and they're definitely the elite so it'd be nice to actually show them do something.

That whole set was fantastic - the geometry and contrast and rows and rows of storm troopers - but those guards were my favourite design.

I agree I would like them to do something though.

Which of course was 18 years before the next films. So the red could have been an updated look to the type of guards they were. Similar to the minor changes in the Star Destroyers in Sith v Wars/Empire
