CELL WOULD ULTIMATELY BE WASHED REGARDLESS, AND GOKU KNEW IT. SSJ2 Gohan was leagues above Cell, Senzu or no. The fact that he was able to kill Trunks is COMPLETELY GOHAN'S FAULT FOR NOT ENDING THE FIGHT IMMEDIATELY. Gohan also knew he had the ability to become SSJ2 but his sawft side did not allow it until he let 16 get his head stomped.
By the way, this whole scenario would NOT have happened if not for

Yes, everyone, including Goku, got stomped into the ground by Cell Jrs, because Cell ate a Senzu Bean. So, saying it did nothing for him makes no sense
You're also making an argument that just leads back to Goku. Had Goku not given Cell a Senzu Bean that entire business with him threatening to blow up Earth, resurrecting even stronger, and Trunks dying wouldn't have happened anyways. Nor would Gohan attempting to cause as much harm to Cell as possible Episodes worth of events stem from Goku's decision, just as you're arguing they do from Vegeta and Gohan's, but for some reason Goku's the only one who did nothing wrong?

Dumbest thing you've said thus far. Gohan had no knowledge of such a thing or how to access the transformation. He went into the Cell Games believing that his father was going to take Cell on and was under the impression his dad was holding back, until Goku hit him with a random plan from left field, telling him that it was all up to him
Goku had extra time in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, during which he could have trained Gohan to access SS2 or helped prepare him to do so. Instead, this fool comes out early, doesn't say a word to Gohan, and then is surprised when Cell's beating Gohan to death. Let's not act as if Piccolo didn't call him out on this and as if Goku himself didn't realize his mistake Y'all really trying to say that it's ok to put the Earth in further danger so that Gohan could have a "fair" fight with Cell

Isn't Goku's mercy a wonderful thing? Toriyama established with this one scene that Vegeta would be Goku's son for the rest of the franchise

Vegeta assisting gohan was at least he can do. Gohan saved his weakling *** and injuring his arm in the process.
