Damn, sucks if true. I respect him for not pulling punches with his ideals, though. Fun fact, the episodes about BET the assisant underling Reggie is a parody of BET president Reggie Hundlin. They worked together on boondocks before he became president and ya'll know how McGruder feels about BET. Crazily enough that dude Reggie Hundlin still got a producer's credit on the show :lol:.

The show premieres on my birthday. When i first heard I was hype but learning this about Aaron got me a little down.
Still want to watch and see how it goes. And being an adult now, this is like the one of best presents in years. ::pimp:

I'll try and find the article. From what I understood it was part of the reason he left.  You're right, I guess they sold the syndication rights recently. This happened a couple years ago tho.

I remember hearing that Tyler threatened not to do business with Turner anymore because of that episode.

As the world now knows, The Boondocks will be returning for a fourth season, but I will not be returning with it. I’d like to extend my gratitude to Sony and Adult Swim for three great seasons.

I created The Boondocks two decades ago in college, did the daily comic for six years, and was showrunner on the animated series for the first three seasons. The Boondocks pretty much represents my life’s work to this point. Huey, Riley, and Granddad are not just property to me. They are my fictional blood relatives. Nothing is more painful than to leave them behind.

To quote a great white man, “Hollywood is a business”. And to quote another great white man, “Don’t hold grudges”.

What has never been lost on me is the enormous responsibility that came with The Boondocks - particularly the television show and it’s relatively young audience. It was important to offend, but equally important to offend for the right reasons. For three seasons I personally navigated this show through the minefields of controversy. It was not perfect. And it definitely was not quick. But it was always done with a keen sense of duty, history, culture, and love. Anything less would have been simply unacceptable.

As for me, I’m finally putting a life of controversy and troublemaking behind me with my upcoming Adult Swim show, BLACK JESUS.

and man i been watching boondocks since the beginning
i was hyped when i found out they was making it a show after reading the comic strip for years

Adult Swim made them take them down. They hate Youtube so when adult swim picked it up as a show they had Aaron take them down.

man I didn't even know this was the same black jesus....someone told me bout black dynamite and I accidently stumbled on it awhile back...if I remember one episode had him in search of disciples...........

damn I didn't even see that. I hope I get to see what I missed on adult swim's site. I rarely go there.
 
I kept catching bits and pieces of that last night. Looks like they have no intention of letting Stinkmeaner go.
