Reports: Olympian Pistorius shoots dead his girlfriend

Wouldn't he be double stumped?

I heard that when they asked him why he really did it, he was stumped.
C'mon man, he's not a camel...

people are just going all out with jokes.

whether or not he knows about it, you don't kick people when their down.

the end.

Dude killed his girlfriend. I won't lose sleep over making fun of him. I'm sure if the roles were reversed, and he had legs, he'd kick someone when they were down.

im sure hes going to walk...

most of these countries that are viewed as corrupt often want to keep the only thing they have to show for.

Ignorance at it's finest.

South Africa...
-is the only African country to have a peaceful transition of regimes (ending of Apartheid, the fact that there wasn't a giant civil war is a serious achievement recognized by the whole world).
-boasts a stable economy
-first successful heart transplant in the world
-has arguably the best Rugby and Cricket team in the world
-is the first African country to host a World Cup

I can go on and on with the great things that South Africa has, literally for pages and pages...you're acting like ONE athlete is the only thing the country has to show...

Best believe, he won't walk, especially off the back of that Jub Jub Trial where black folks did the crime, now they're doing the time. South Africa is extremely racial, because of it's history, race is still a very touchy and emotional subject. If Oscar walks, best believe they'll have people protesting in the streets, causing havoc. That's something that the country doesn't need any more of (see the current mining and agriculture strikes).

....and Thursday's headlines:

Hilton Botha, lead detective in Oscar Pistorius case, faces his own attempted murder charges

Yahoo! Sports

Oscar Pistorius' murder case took a sensational twist Thursday when it was revealed that the chief investigator who analyzed the scene of Reeva Steenkamp's fatal shooting faces seven counts of attempted murder charges himself.

Hilton Botha, whose stumbling and at times incoherent evidence on day two of Pistorius' bail hearing gave the Blade Runner's case a serious boost, was allegedly one of three drunk police officers who opened fire on a mini-bus taxi full of passengers in 2011, according to South Africa's Eyewitness News.

According to Botha, the shooting took place as part of the investigation into the murder of Denise Stratford, a Girl Scout leader whose body was discovered stuffed into a drain in 2011. Botha and colleagues were tracking the suspect and as part of their inquiries fired at the mini-bus when it failed to pull over when requested.

Botha was arrested at the time due to the charges, which were subsequently dropped, before it emerged Thursday that they had been reinstated.

SAfrica police names new Pistorius investigator

AP

PRETORIA, South Africa (AP) -- South Africa's police head has appointed its top detective as the new lead investigator in the Oscar Pistorius murder case.

The decision came after it emerged the initial investigator, Hilton Botha, was facing attempted murder charges.

National Commissioner Riah Phiyega says Lt. Gen. Vinesh Moonoo will take over the investigation.

C'mon brah

South Africa has a lot more to show for itself that Oscar. Especially in athletics

I don't that Oscar was the most famous athlete in the country too

Not to be funny or anything but is little "tink tink" Katt Williams was making fun of a while back in his one stand acts? :nerd:

Was reading this in the article:
Pretoria Central Prison, where he would have been remanded if denied bail, is by all accounts a godforsaken place – a dirty, noisy, violent, crowded, dangerous and soul-destroying jail that no one, especially a famous, white, wealthy, amputee superstar wants to spend time at.

At the chief magistrate believing he's not a flight risk... If I was Pistorius, I figure I have until June to figure out an escape plan... Get away or get life trying!!!!

why don't they just make him forfeit his passport? I doubt he would be able to just stroll through the airport unnoticed and be allowed to get on a plane. Even if he had the funds to secure a private jet, wouldn't that still have to be cleared through the airport

TSA: "Sir, you're gonna have to take off your legs."

What? South Africa has all of it's great attributes because of money?

Bail is actually a million rand with 100k immediately payable.

You do realize that this is a BAIL hearing. The trial is still coming up. Dude is FAR from a free man.

one million rand is about 112K...which is nothing to do this guy.

and yes im aware this was a bail hearing but he is free at the moment...and ultimately i believe they will let him walk because of who he is..

its sad but him being free on bail is a bad sign of whats to come, not to mention the investigator on the case that has a case coming up,

this was a cluster fuuuu to begin with.

Pistorius' lawyer also wants the charge to be lowered to "culpable homicide" meaning he didn't have the intent to kill Steenkamp but that it was a tragic mistake

hes out on bail till the next court date which is june 4th..
