The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

Rooted im assuming?
I'm not sure. The post was from a while back. Right now i can hook up my ds4 via otg cable to my phone. Supposedly you can hook up the ds4 wirelessly as well. All while having an unrooted phone.

Edit: not my picView media item 1895926
This is true. I was able to hook up DS3/DS4s to my Xperia Z3 through bluetooth when I had it. I'm not sure if other android phones have that functionality.

my productivity at work would be literally 0 if i could do this. how does it work? ur ps4 turns on and broadscasts the signal, then ur phone rides wifi to download and display it? wouldnt that create a ridiculous lag time in response? i imagine that by the time you SEE yourself get hit in the game and respond, youd be halfway dead already in actuality lol

If only I could play games on the iPad with my DS4 without jailbreaking my iPad, I'd probably invest in quite a few mobile games.

I'm literally just learning about this. I was team iphone since 2009. Team android now.

I was reasonably able to play uncharted 1, but for some reason my save wasn't accessible.

Need to test it with more games.

So me and my 2 sons are trying to play Black Ops on line and cant figure it out.

2 of us can play but second player usually ends up getting kicked out.

What am I doing wrong?

Remote Play

Officially supported for Vita and Sony phones and tablets but the dudes at XDA have a solution for rooted android devices.

As long as your PS4 is in rest mode, you can wake it up remotely and stream it to your phone. It has touch screen controls but you can get the GCm10 mount below and pair your DS4 by Bluetooth for proper controls.

I tried it at work with Driveclub and Rocket League and it worked well. This was also before I got power line adapters so as long as your connection is good, you're set.

I've been meaning to look into remote play for a while now. I was told you can play anywhere.

Tempted to buy a vita just for the remote play. I'd be on Fallout all day at work.

What's the verdict on Playstation Now? I took the trial, and just got charged for another month because I completely forgot about it. Should I keep it? Is there any lag?

I was on 360 all last generation, so I figured it would be a great way to catch up on everything I missed.

whoa mind blown

There's a PC remote play version but not an official Sony app, but the creator said he wouldn't be surprised if Sony releases one.

im reading up on it and people saying any games where reaction time matters renders this useless outside of the sony phones or vita. they said the response lag is severe enough to matter. so fighting games and shooting games are pretty much out they say. u saying it works fine period? i just dont understand the mechanics. how is it possible to basically stream ur ps4 to anywhere on any network and its fast enough to play a game on? streaming in general has a huge like 2 second delay and thats from computer to computer

You can play anywhere with Wifi that has good speed. You will have to use a lower video setting for slower speeds.

I still haven't tried PS Now yet since I still have my PS3 but it sounds like it's good for catching up with the games with no chance of a remaster. If you're interested in only the big titles then it's most likely a remaster is coming or already out.
PS Now is also on Vita. They use similar tech to stream so if you get a Vita then the value would be better.

Yea, Yoshida confirmed that Remote Play for PC and Mac is coming

I don't have much experience with rooted phones, just my Xperia Z2 and Vita and I was able to play them just fine. Also remote play at first was capped to 30fps but an update pushed it to 60fps so some of the reviews might have been before the update but even still since its been streamed fighting games and shooters will suffer if you have high ping between both devices.

Vita has an option to connect directly to the PS4 through Wifi so if the PS4 is close by then it doesn't need to hop onto the local network so that's usually what gives the best results. If you're away from home then it'll need to go through the internet and as long as you have good speeds on both ends and a decent ping then there won't be much lag. Both the games I tried were definitely playable but if you're sensitive to delay then it might not work for you.

As for how they can do it, Sony bought Gaikai which was a gaming streaming company like Onlive but better apparently because they got a world record for streaming something. So all their patents and tech is what is used for remote play, share play and PS Now.

might cop a vita just to try that mount

You won't need the mount for the Vita since it has its own controls and DS4 doesn't connect to Vita unfortunately

Hitman on PS4: Beta and Story Details Revealed

There is a world beyond yours, where economics and luxury collide with violence and power. Welcome to a world of assassination, a dangerous place of hidden violence where secret deals and bloody murder decides who holds power. It is a world where agencies such as the ICA work in the shadows to bring balance to the power struggle.

The world of assassination is an expression of the ongoing game world we have built over the last 15 years at Io-Interactive since the release of the very first Hitman game. It is the setting for past, present, and future Hitman games.
Episodic Storytelling and Narrative
Hitman will launch on March 11th as a truly episodic game experience with a major live component. The episodic nature of Hitman allows us to craft both individual stories centred on Agent 47’s targets as well as longer season stories involving 47, Diana Burnwood, the ICA, and an entirely new main cast.

The structure is inspired by contemporary TV series’ and will unfold over multiple seasons. To begin with, the overall story and the individual mission stories run in parallel but as the first season progresses, the tracks will merge and become one.
Before That, the Beta
The Hitman Beta will be available first on PS4 starting February 12th. You can guarantee your access right now by pre-ordering either the Full Experience or Intro Pack via PlayStation Store. The Hitman Collector’s Edition will also include access to the beta, and full details on that are up on the dedicated CE page. Whichever version you choose to pre-order, you’ll also get the Blood Money Requiem Pack.

As well as being the first to play the Beta, PS4 players will also get exclusive access to The Sarejevo Six. These are six bonus contracts that tell a self-contained side-story revolving around former members of a paramilitary unit called CICADA. Agent 47 will travel the world in pursuit of his targets, with one contract available in each location from the game.

The first PS4 exclusive contract will be available when the game launches on March 11th. We’re calling it “The Director.” Your target is Scott Sarno, Director of European Operations for the CICADA private military corporation. He is a thirty-year veteran of clandestine operations and has been linked to a number of questionable operations in Europe and the Middle East as far back as the mid-nineties. He is highly trained and incredibly observant, you should expect him to be accompanied by several CICADA agents at all times.

Anyone still play battlefield 4 just saw that the premium version is on sale at the PS store and I was wondering if it's worth it? I need a new fps and BO3 is definitely not an option.
