Are these really getting pushed back? Seriously? I was ready to cop day 1, they come out the day after my b-day and I was excited since I wanted a pair for casual wear and this one hits the mark (HTM ;p) for my casual wear color palette. I got the easters for basketball and tennis use. Kobe's shoe is actually a very good tennis shoe IMO with such great traction on multiple surfaces, lightweight etc etc.

Anyway how credible is the source? Also I thought the blue ones were north stars initially.

China 9s may not release in the US just like the Sparks didn't for the Kobe 8 or YOTD 7.

Sneakernews just posted that Paul George is getting a signature shoe? One, I thought Kyrie was going to be Nike's next guy in line? And B, what does that mean for the current Kobe line? We know there are 10s on the way guaranteed, but doesn't Nike normally like to keep it at 3 guys? I know Kobe has mentioned wanting to develop his own branding, do you guys see Kobe getting an 11th, or maybe going his own route to finish his career in his own shoes? IMHO that would be kinda baller.

I realize this is a bit of a subject departure, but I started thinking about it because the 9s are already running right smack into the 10s release just like with the KDs - just food for thought.

Kobe X will release in February 2015, Kobe XI possibly a year later.

Kyrie jjust got his new logo from Nike, probably for use on the HyperRevs... Nike's gonna capitalize on he and LeBron playing with the Cavs...

And Nike may try to capitalize on the future with Paul George, but I just don't see any sig shoe of his selling as well as any sig of the current 'Big 3'.

Well nike had the barkleys, pippens, jordan and penny's going at the same time at one point. They'll probably run his line until he retires. Kobe's shoes won't be nearly as popular when he's not playing anymore. The em 9s are sitting right now mostly because we haven't seen them on kobe much.

I don't think most of the EM's are sitting because Kobe is not playing in them.

Might be easier for people to get their head around the EM by looking at them as a mid tier shoe - Elite High, Elite Low, EM, Venomenon. Like Lebron XI Elite, XI, XI low, Soldier (and I'm not addressing what LeBron actually played in). The Elite High and Low are the signature shoes, and I think if Kobe had played, they are what he would have played in. I think there are photos of him in various EM CW's simply to promote the shoe. Just like he always has on other Kobe gear. He's a good salesman. I don't really think Nike thought all the EM CW's would be flying out the door. Limited releases yes, but GR's no. Lots of non limited CW's of past shoes sat for a while. The thing is with the sig lines is they take forever to go on sale, so they will be around at full price for a while. Eventually moving to the first tier of markdown - like $129 or something like that.

As for after play popularity, I bet people would buy "Retro" I, II, V's and VI's today (I would with all those), and probably other models. I think if Penny can still have a signature, Kobe can after he stops playing. New model, retros, the whole deal.

I dont think any of the kobe line will make it to the local nike outlets. I imagine in the bigger cities it might be the case. Then again I guess nike can ship shoes to outlets from anywhere in the US.
