NFL Week 1 In Review...

that's the thing and a good point. at that stage in the game...use the guys that have been doing work all game! nicks, cruz, randle....put em to work!
Dallas two LB's showed Blitz and then dropped back, So Eli made the sight adjustment to hit the RB screen. I would prefer to work Cruz, Randle, and Nicks but those LB's dropping back probably close most of the passing lanes in the middle.

-suh is a god damn clown, to be such a great talent but so dirty and a clown is a shame.

-get cam some god damn weapons man, he was throwing some strikes yesterday that where getting dropped
mean.gif

-anyone else notice Reggie bush and AD hit top end speed mid run then start losing gas towards the end
laugh.gif

- yeah so Kaepernick cant pass?

-josh freemen is going to be out of a starting job next year

Why Jake Delhomme almost put up one of the best Super Bowl performances ever against the Pats and was an ok QB for many years, I'd say they are quite similar. If not for the broncos allowing that Hail Mary chuck, where is Joe Flacco ranked today?

That's my point, the line between greatness and failure is so thin, that's why I don't rely on playoff success as a great indicator of performance.\

.

You'd have a point if Flacco's only good game in the playoffs was in the SB last year - but it wasn't. That's all I'm trying to say is that it's not fair to lump Flacco w/ the other guys when he did it over a 4 game period. Small sample size? Sure...but he did it when it mattered the most.

We're going to have to agree to disagree.

Cowboys/Giants- Not sure if it was our new D or a the giants, but i loved the turnovers.
WE HAVE TO CAPITALIZE off them tho SHEEESH
We do not run enough.
Cruz went off.
Finally beat them in our home :D

Lions have a great offense with Reggie
I originally would say id want a player like SUH on my team but this S!!! is outlandish. He doesnt even think.
Cant believe AD was shut down after that first run.
Can the eagles and washington both lose?
BOLDEN!!! dude is a beast. 49ers are the Favorites for sure. V Davis isnt even utilized either...crazy.

Cam threw a disgusting pass to Olsen up the seam in between two defenders that Olsen dropped.

And yeah that game came down to Dlo fumbling as the Panthers were driving for a score

good thing cowboys didn't need a safety and didn't have a shot to draft eric reid or Kenny vaccaro
mean.gif
 both look good yesterday

Suh just needs to be suspended for the year. He'll never get it...

Having dudes like him on your team messes your karma up.

Random injuries and close calls don't go your way.

I'm done with him.

glad im not the only one, i honestly hate him. every game he does someting stupid. screw him, seriously.

only thing i care about is that Lions win :pimp: onto the Cardinals next week

noticed i kept reading a variation of this sentiment around the web last night

"if the giants don't turn it over 6 times, they win that game"

yeah? well they did turn it over 6 times, and they didn't win that game. people wanna blame the RB or eli for that last pick 6, how about giving the credit to the cowboys for getting pressure in eli's face to force a bad throw, and give brandon carr credit for being in the right place at the right time and taking it to the house.

"if david wilson doesn't fumble..."

yeah, well he did fumble. the cowboys stripped the rock out of his hands. sometimes you just gotta give a team credit.

could they have played better? yes. at the end of the day, they played well enough to win the game.

/rant

- 49ers are a scary team. probably the most balanced team in the league. whatever you want to say about him, he stood in the pocket and made some great throws. he went through progressions, kept the play alive, and only took off as a last resort.
- the colts o-line is very suspect. don't think they were expecting the raiders to play the way they did.
-levonte david is a moron

i'll post other things later, just wanted to get some of those thoughts out

This is true. One of the reason's we won last year was because of Tony's 4int. This game was actually kinda of similar to that one too.

-peyton put on a show on thursday... flat out incredible
-reggie bush with a great debut for detroit... him & calvin are gonna be fun to watch this year
-ponder :x
-saints D looked good yesterday... forced TO's, got sacks, & picked off that key play at the end
- ^ payton is surely welcomed back
-nice run by luck in the 4th
-geno, pryor, & EJ all showed flashes of them having a bright future... looking forward to seeing what they can do this season
-that ending to the bucs & jets game
-clutch D by seattle
-wilson to kearse, also clutch
-jags :x :x
-KC with 6 sacks :x
-that suh block was totally unnecessary
-AJ green balled out
-kaep & boldin were EATIN yesterday... great performance by the both of them.
-ravens screwed up giving flacco all that money & letting some real key players go *see note above*

I think people bring up 6 turnover thing for the Cowboys because of how poorly they played and in all honesty were still in the game till that inside kick, which in itself was

Cowboys defense showed up, some were results of them, some cause of the giants.

Regardless, a win is a win.

They bring it up because they needed 7 games to get 6 TO's last year. The only reason "some of the results are them, some cause of the Giants" is even uttered is because it's the Cowboys playing.

Romo showed something different last night. I need him to show this to me in December/January this year.

BTW, I love PP in AZ. Completely shut down Givens. Gave him nothing.

brady gonna brady.

ej looked good.

seahawks will struggle

panthers need an offense to complement that good offense

reggie :smokin

ponder :x

ap might not get 1500 hundred yards but will have more than 8 tds.

jury still out on the chiefs since they played jacksonville. jacksonville needs to move to la and blow the team up.

freeman :smh:

geno looked ok

packers d still needs work. i see you clay :smokin

kaep is filthy :x

boldin :x

weeden :smh:

aj :x

bengals penalties :smh:

pryor looked good. dangerous team to play since they have nothing to lose.

falcons scored 17 with a stacked offense. not good.

steelers looked terrible. tomlin better get it going or he will not make it through the season.

cardinals will surprise. the d gave up the lead.

giants and cowboys :smh:. still need to smooth out the edges. i think they both will be ok.

If Kaep continues to refine his passing ability then wow - imagine that offense when Crabtree gets back.

Also - since I missed the play live what do they mean by "wrong" - anyone know: NFL VP of officiating Dean Blandino has determined the officials made 2nd mistake in Matthews-Kaepernick scrum: Staley penalty was wrong.

I think Schiano is going to be our Singletary. I like how strong he is on discipline and getting the right guys to build our franchise, but I don't think he has good enough game planning to be an NFL head coach. Bill Sheridan was a dreadful hire at DC and has our DL running ******ed stunts all game too.

If Schiano doesn't make the playoffs this year I'm not sure he's brought back next year. Might be a new coach and new QB.

I think we bounce back and win against the Saints next week though.

How was the penalty on Staley wrong? I he came across and starting a scrum with Clay. Defending his quarterback or not. In that case after hit or sack OL should just start those scrums to defend their player. It's like 2 wrongs make it right.

Jacksonville isn't moving to LA. No one is moving to L.A. NFL owners threaten their fans with a possible relocation to pressure them into using tax dollars to fund new stadiums.

The enforcement of the penalty was wrong.

Both penalties were after the play, meaning the play should count. The refs treated them as penalties that occurred during the play, then replayed the down. Should have been 4th and 2, but refs let them play 3rd and 6 again.

This wouldn't be an issue if clay Matthews doesn't commit a stupid penalty and put it in the refs hands. Refs definitely blew it though

Referee Bill Leavy admitted after Sunday’s Packers-49ers game that his crew botched a call after Green Bay’s Clay Matthews and San Francisco’s Joe Staley both drew personal fouls, and that the officials’ mistake benefitted the 49ers.

But that’s not quite right.

The NFL now says it was the Packers, not the 49ers, who benefitted from the officials’ mistake on the play, because Staley shouldn’t have been flagged in the first place. The league office reviewed the play and determined that while Matthews was rightly called for a late hit on 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, the official who threw the flag on Staley for getting in Matthews’ face after running over to protect Kaepernick should not have done so.

In other words, if the entire play had been properly called, it would have been first-and-goal for the 49ers at the 3-yard line on the next play. Instead, the officials made it tougher for the 49ers by making them re-play third down after the offsetting penalties. The officials erred in their enforcement of the offsetting penalties, which appeared to benefit the 49ers, but in reality there never should have been offsetting penalties to enforce in the first place. Only the Packers should have been penalized.

Some may say it’s a moot point because the 49ers scored a touchdown on that third-down play anyway. But either way, the league has confirmed that this play was botched, in more ways than one. And because the 49ers scored a touchdown, the two wrongs equaled a right for San Francisco.
