That's why the NBA isn't entertaining anymore, and probably why David Stern no longer wants to be apart of being the Face of the NBA anymore.

Too many suckas. Too many pansys. Too many ungrateful players who all want to play in either NY, LA, or MIA. These young 90's babies-players are suckas.

The NBA is ***. Been that way since 2010 and it will be that way until it implodes and every small market team is no longer relevant, causing the NBA to collapse or just take its team locations overseas.

**** Kyrie. He'll soon realize the grass isn't always greener on the other side...I'm actually glad this is happening. The current state of NBA is ****** and will be for a long time until the CBA changes the way players leave their teams.

I'm not mad at all

No one "forces" rookies to stay after their rookie contract. It's just that no one will turn down ALL that money your team can offer you in that extension.

I highly doubt Kyrie wants to leave Cleveland because it's not NY or LA.... it's because they've been building a crap squad around him. And even if he left after his max contract extension.. what more do you expect from a guy? We need ten year rookie contracts for small market fans to stop complaining? Take it from a fan of a big market team... life isn't that much better over here.

Ownership, GM, coaches, scouts, culture and attitude, you need those things to be right and that's got nothing to do with the city your team plays in.

The free agent market will be influenced by market size and location.. that can't be denied. All things being equal, a lot of players would rather play in LA than in Cleveland or Minny, but overall the "struggles" or small markets aren't as bad as people say.

FF - was there a link to the info that Kyrie is planning on leaving once his deal is up?

Easier said than done, but look at the success the 76ers had once they moved Iverson over to SG and had Eric Snow running the point. Maybe the Cavs could try something similar. I dunno...

I forget how many people dislike Animal Thug at times. Dude seems cool to me.

Comic Sanimal Thug is some witty stuff though.

I don't have a problem with him, it's always been cordial with me and him.

I think he gets a little too rattled by the Cavs/Ohio slander  like I don't think he needs to call old boy soft because he doesn't like Gilbert and he's not a Cavs fan.

despise this cba.

players should get to play wherever the hell they want to play after the rookie deal.

in what other firm are you required to essentially stay, (restricted FA, teams allowed to match)??

If I don't like how things are run at my place of work, and I'll take less money for a better situation, than what the hell is wrong with that?

Parity in sports is ********

Said this many times in the thread, **** is ridiculous.

They may not "force" you to sign with the team that drafted you but when only they can offer you substantially more money, it's a huge handicap that doesn't make sense financially to turn down. **** doesn't make sense from a business perspective, this wouldn't ride in any other profession.

It doesn't really bother me bro, although I dont know why people hate me - you can even look back into my posts history, I never target anyone or personally attack anyone.

It's cool though....I'm gone soon.

Cavs learned nothing from how they dealt w/ Lebron...

I think it was Luol Deng who was alluding to the entitlement the younger players show in the organization. Pretty much letting the inmates run the asylum.

I remember that trade deadline "overhaul" that brought the Cavs Ben Wallace and all that ****. That was gross. It seemed to work out at the time but in hindsight :smh:

Jamison was the only decent move that I remember them making and it turned out horrible

I ask if he was soft because of the reasons why he doesn't like Dan G.

ANd to those arguing why the NBA doesn't allow players to just walk away after the rookie contract...well the NBA wouldn't be **** if that was the case. They're well aware that every player isn't completely satisfied for playing in a city that isn't flashy, sunny, etc - so the CBA keeps them restricted for this reason. Otherwise, there would be no NBA.

Pretty much. There would be a few stacked teams (Miami , NY, LAL, LAC, Chi, Brooklyn) and the rest would basically be crap.

It depends. Cause some fans love the unpredictably of sports. If a stacked Lakers team goes to play a weak orlando team, everyone would already know the result of that match so very few people would watch or even attend the games. Therefore the nba would lose a lot of viewership. That's just 1 example of what could have possibly happen without the cba.
