Is Peyton Manning the most overrated qb of all time?

I called this before the playoffs started.

If Peyton wins a playoff game, the critics will be silent or we'll hear "Well, he's now won as many playoff games in a Broncos uniform as Tim Tebow!"
If Peyton wins the AFC championship, the critics will be silent or we'll hear "Well, he's going to lose the Super Bowl!"
If Peyton wins the Super Bowl, the critics will be silent or we'll hear "Tom Brady has three rings!"
If he loses the Super Bowl, expect "Is Peyton Manning the most overrated QB of all time?" to pop up.

Chestradamus. :pimp:

Repped.

Ugh. Bittersweet tonight.

Brett Favre is the most overrated QB of all time.

Blasphemy!

651paul....where art thou? you said Peyton was gonna get his 2nd...

Right here, bro. Before the season I felt strongly about it. Season plays out and circumstances change when you get new information. Wanted Peyton to get number 2, but it just wasn't in the cards. Not against this team, at least.

But back to the topic at hand: this game definitely hurt his legacy, IMO. It's one thing to lose a Super Bowl... it's another to lose like this. :smh:

Definitely. Sucks, but it is what it is.

Peyton probably my favorite player ever but his fate has been solidified with this game as a choke artist in big games.

My dude could of solidified his legacy before in that Saints SB and throws a pick 6 to end the game...okay... You get a SECOND chance at GOAT status with the #1 record setting offense and you barely even sniff the redzone and have one of the worst SB losses in history. He could of confirmed himself in the GOAT talk now I cant even be mad at people not even putting him in the top 5.

Lets say he loses in a close game. Okay thats fine but they got blown the hell out

I did not know this dude could lose in a big game AGAIN...He just did.

"Went from top 5 to not being mentioned at all"

Congrats to the Seahawks. That defense is :x

So chester?

since you are on one knee..

will you admit that Brady is better than Forehead Peyton?

Nope. The same Tom Brady that got eliminated by Peyton two weeks ago? Child, please.

And for the record, I've never said "Peyton Manning is the GOAT"... you can find my list in the QB discussion thread if you wanna dig it up.

Patriots not even 100%. Got a lot if rookies too.

Trust.

overrated in post season, yes. but he is a great qb nonetheless.

My thoughts. Its so many people who swear he's the best of all time though. Not specifically on here but in general but they get tight when you point out his shortcomings in the postseason.

Best offense of all time but only 8 in the biggest game of your career. I guess.

I throughly disagree with the people in this thread who says Peyton is overrated. And I still don't understand why people are saying he choked tonight. How did he choke? The Seahawks defense just dominated from start to finish.

Lol. If those were truly your thoughts, you wouldnt have started a dumbass thread asking if Peyton was the most overrated QB of all time.

Did you see some of those passes he overthrew? He almost threw 3-4 picks. Mind you D.Thomas strip fumble and some of that defense was terrible but you still had the #1 offense (even though they were soft). The first play of the game and you give up a Safety and set the tone of the game. I expect Russel Wilson to do something like that :smh:

No more excuses for Peyton. I gave my man excuses with that Saints vs. Colts SB but this one is even worse.

Kap and Brees put up points on seattles defense in Seattle going against that incredible defense and home field advantage. The 49ers almost won and the saints had their chances. The best offense of all time could only put up 8 on Seattle on a neutral field. Who's the quarterback of this offense.

Like I've always said, best regular season qb of all time but he needs to stop getting a pass for his numerous playoff shortcomings

That's a great point.

Of course not, but his post season play leaves a good amount to be desired. I swear we had this exact post after the NO. Loss

I almost forgot that Kap and Brees put up points in Seattle.

Peyton overrated man :smh: ...All those 1 and Dones and now 12 losses in the playoffs? :x :smh:

Jeez why so defensive.

Honestly? Because I think more of you as a poster than to start a nonsense thread like this. I would come to expect this from certain posters. Didnt think you would be in that category.

We did but at least with that loss we gave him some slack because of Garcon & etc. This one was downright embarrassing on a game he may just retire after and/or his legacy could be set in stone.
