Give them out. Yoenis was still a big part of the team.

i'd give them out if he were a long time A's legend who was traded in the same way Yo was...no doubt, that he's been a huge component of this team for the past 2 and a half seasons, but something about giving away the shirt with him playing for another team just rubs me the wrong way. just can't put into words why.

it's like trying to figure out whether or not you should accept a bday gift from an ex-girlfriend right after you break up.

They gave out Giambi Bobbleheads after they DFA'd him in 09

Shocked, don't know how to feel. This was still a world series team next year. Now you won't have Lester or Ces next year.

I've been away on work and didn't get the news till a couple hours ago. I can't believe it. I know what Lester brings but did we forget the early 2000s? You have to hit to win also....I don't know how I feel about this trade...

I'm unable to watch the game today but looking at the box score is the exact reason why I'm still not a fan of this deal. Cespedes changes the dynamic of this offense. I have huge concerns about this team scoring now. Lester makes our pitching rotation much more dominant but I don't feel like this team is as balanced now. Someone convince me otherwise.

Alright guys, it's time: we need to get together to see a game together.

For everyone interested, post which game you'd be able to/want to attend and I'll put a poll together for the game we'll attend. We need to make this happen this season as this could be our one chance at seeing a championship contending team. I'll be checking in on the thread for the next week to see what everyone chooses.

Refer to the first post to see the schedule for August/September or look it up on Google. Let's make this happen.

All hitting metrics show is we lost the 5th best hitter on this team and replaced it with two players (Gomes and Vogt) that are better than him

We need Coco to come back and play like he's capable of and Gentry wouldn't hurt either

I'll be going to the Donaldson shirt day Aug 9th I have 10 games left on my pack so I'm basically living at O.co

Wait, isn't the Larussa bobblehead game day on August 9th?

My bad that's the 7th for the tee

I'll also be there on the ninth

I know what hitting metrics show and I hope you guys are right. I don't think Cespedes is a superstar or some great hitter, but he is a middle of the order right handed bat. I know a platoon of Vogt and Gomes provides better numbers, but no way either of those guys provides the same type of threat that Cespedes does. I think people are undervaluing what Cespedes brought in terms of being that middle of the order guy.

If Coco comes back healthy and Donny hits like he did in the beginning of the year, I will feel a lot better. This was the first year I felt a lot of confidence in our offense bringing us back in games but without Cespedes, I think it changes the complexion of the entire lineup. It's not all about the stats. I loved the Shark deal because we gave up nothing of value to us today, but IMO in this deal, we gave up a lot of value from today's team. I would have gave up the farm for Lester (if we had any) but I wouldn't have given up a middle of the lineup bat.

This deal can workout, I just feel it was super risky and only time will tell. I am not doubting what Lester brings, I'm just doubting what type of numbers this offense will put together.

I sure hope this offense shuts me up.

What about the Angels series?
. Next one or the last home stand?

Aren't the numbers the threat?

I really liked having him in our lineup but he may be one of the most overrated .260 25hr guys ever and his value would never be more then 2 days ago

I was thinking next series.

I think casual baseball fans overrate cespedes while die hard baseball fans underrate him. If that makes any sense
