2018/19 Philadelphia 76ers Thread: The Process Continues

Even if you disagree with his potential, he's worth a lot more than two 2nd round picks. You can't argue that. and no, I am still not over it.

Anderson with 19 against the Mavs.
Those shots of Cuban was LOL.

Not sure if I should be happy we're playing well or mad at us dropping in the standings.
Guess I'm just hoping the lakers somehow drop to 4th in the draft.

I've said alllllll damn year Holmes was the guy that made Noel expendable. And Justin Anderson has the chance to be a tremendous role player and fan favorite for us for years to come. No he's not going to be a star player, but he has a chance to be a PJ Tucker type of player that can help us win a lot of games. Everybody keeps acting like we ONLY got two 2nd round picks and just negate the fact we got him. **** is annoying every time I read somebody say that.

I think TLC is going to end up being a great pick in the 20's and potential 6th man of the year type player off the bench in his prime

edit: Holmes just swatted the **** out of Jaylen Brown

I love this whole team. They're going to be phenomenal role players for us in a year or two when we're a playoff team if we're able to keep them around. We need to extend Holmes contract asap before he costs a billion dollars next year.

Everybody projected Saric to have a sixth man type role. I think he has more the proven his value as a starter. Saric has a very high IQ and very high motor. I just love watching him play. I think he would need to be a more consistent shooter for them to co-exist together. That lineup would also need to have deadeye shooters at the wings (Monk!).

I am not too worried about Simmons and Saric offensively, it's whether or not Simmons can hold his own defensively.

Big game in Philly today vs Orlando now in OT.

I need Philly to lose as ORL and PHI are 4 and 5 in lottery projections lol #Racetothebottom

Great game by Philly. Holmes hit that clutch three in overtime (didn't know he had that in him). But we got the loss which puts as a half game to 4th place. lol

Umm....so Bryan really wants to undo the whole process thing...

76ers Made 'Significant' Offer To Pacers For Paul George

The Philadelphia 76ers offered a significant trade package at the deadline for Paul George.

The 76ers reportedly offered the Pacers their choice of Jahlil Okafor or Nerlens Noel along with Robert Covington and at least two future first round picks for George.

The 76ers' preference was to keep their own future picks and move the draft rights of other teams like those of the Los Angeles Lakers and Sacramento Kings to protect themselves in case George left in 2018.

The 76ers were not turned off by George's preference to play for the Lakers. Philadelphia was confident in their ability to convince George to stay with their young core of Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons and Dario Saric.

----------------------------------------------

What do ya'all think about this attempt and the direction the sixers are taking?

I'd be all in on that. Embiid, Simmons and Saric is already a solid core and throw in George + whoever we take with our first makes this legit.

Plus technically, those picks and players were all acquired by Hinkie so it's like Hinkie traded for PG in the end lol

Interesting...this tells me that Colangelo might make moves this summer to speed up the process if an All-Star is available (as long as it's not Jimmy)

Thats just the situation were in right now, its not surprising at all. The bad part of the process is over

Acquiring stars was always the Process. We just have the means to acquire them differently now.

Colangelo is definitely known for doing things like that with rebuilding teams. The thing is if he wanted to make a trade like that did he view Simmons as a full fledged point guard where him, PG, Dario and Embiid could all be on the floor at once, or did he not realize how good Dario was at the time and thought of him as basically the 6th man in that scenario?

I do not want Jimmy Butler on the Sixers. They better stay away from him.

Reports saying Embiid to have surgery..Everyone knew it was coming but still doesn't hurt the sting.I have to adjust my expectations for him now. Being realistic playing 31 games in 3 years for a big isn't good..and with Simmons foot injury I'm really down on how the year has going especially if we end up outside a top 5 pick.

I'm fine with it for now. Biid should be good to go for next season. I'd keep him out of summer league though.
