The long journey I has finally paid off and I was accepted into medical school. NT has been there throughout all my years of procrastination and will be there for at least the next 4. If anyone is in the process don't give up and it will pay off. If anyone needs advice or guiding for the pre med years let me know

***Update***
Created this post about 4 years ago. Probably haven’t logged in many times since haha. But applying for residency now, going into ortho. Looking back i find it hilarious that I even thought ab family med, I honestly don’t even remember that being a consideration
But a couple months away from graduation, med school was awesome. if anyone is in the process, its definitely worth it. But you change so much over the 4 years. here for any questions

**Update #2***
Landed an orthopedic surgery residency in the northeast
still visiting NT every so often, crazy that ive been a part of this community for close to 10 years now
its funny reading a lot of the same names that i recognize but they prob have no clue who i am
but here for anyone going into med school/residency/ Lmk if you have questions

Good job bro. Which school are you going to? I have a ton of friends currently at the MSU School of Medicine. And a bunch that have since graduated and are working on residencies and fellowships. Any idea which path you want to take? Which medicine you want to practice?

congrats my dude

Any advice for the next couple years. I got my masters in biomedical sciences so I've been exposed to classes like anatomy, histology, and others at a graduate level. I want to go into family medicine or orthopedics. My ear is open to any words of wisdom and how u kept sane

An MD in Texas. The idea of orthopedics intrigues me, I want to go into sports medicine but I'm not sure the time commitment and being on call is the path I want to go. So I'm teetering between that and family medicine

Ortho and Family are imo in two different ballparks but I would say to keep an open mind with regards to what specialty you want to pursue. I wanted to do ortho since high school but didnt find rads until late in my 3rd year.

Also do as well as you can to keep all your doors open. Having the ability to choose to apply to any specialty and feel confident in being able to match was huge.

Remember to keep balance in your life. You can only study so many hours in a day. I probably was on the very low end of studying on the bell curve of my class but I finished 2nd in my class. Its all about studying right. A lot of people in my class would study all day every day but only perform avgerage. Its all about how you learn best. If what you do isnt working out dont be afraid to change things

Happy to answer any questions you may have.
