biggest reality check life gave you.

Biggest lesson life has taught me is nothing really last forever. The story of my life is "It was fun while it was lasted"

To those who are currently in school (college). Don't sit and think that once you graduate jobs come begging for you. Truth is, a bachelors degree is nothing more than the modern day highschool diploma.

that everyone makes mistakes and hopefully when life gives you yours you gotta reflect and try to move forward.

I hate when ppl say this. No its not a high school diploma.

Although its not what it used to be pls dont bring down the value of a bachelors

A bachelors is a minimal requirement now and holds no power other than that. In today's world it's masters of bust unless you have a connection.

And 30 percent of Americans have a bachelors degree

Not true. Depends on what kind of bachelors degree you have. Business bachelors degree? Sure you're somewhat right. STEM bachelors degree? Not even close

Don't make other people's problems your problems

When I got home from work today and saw my lips getting darker I decided to stop smoking

For the love of everything save your money

Take care of your ****

Workout

Don't quit a job untill you find another

Don't go spending thousands of dollars at college on a useless degree .

Stay the **** outta debt.

Get your ******* sleep.

Don't tell people your plan or where you going

Or how much money you have

Maintain frame

Stop listening to that stupid **** on the radio they call "music"

Stand up for yourself

Learn to say no

Look people in the eye

Speak from your stomach

Keep in mind that everyone is selfish to a degree and deep down no one gives a guck about you till it benefits them.

Take care of your own **** before you decide to help others

.
The one about not telling anyone your plan or where your going is so true. I feel that I will accomplish something if I just keep it to myself and don't tell anyone.

Even with that they look more at your experience than anything. The degree itself isn't the end all be all

Let's also not disregard job competition, demand, "living" wage, cost of living, and job longevity.

-Some of the closest people to you hate to see you succeed.  Or they want you to do well but not better then them.

-A college degree is full of emply promises

-The value of a dollar was definitely learned after the crash

-Money destroys alot of things.  True colors of Friends, Family and coworkers come out due to money.

-I love my wife very much but I discovered unconditional love when my daughters were born.

All on point.

Chances are you will be a corporate slave for 40+ years of your life.

This bothers me like no other.

Realizing that buying hundreds of sneakers isn't really worth it.

You should have ~50 pairs.
anything more and your not wearing a lot of them.

Unless you just got $$ like that, then it doesn't really matter.

*When you found the right one, KEEP HER.

And if you lose her, fight until you can't anymore. That said, don't give your heart out to just anyone, either.

*Hard work is the center of everything. From job/career success to getting your *** in the gym and becoming a healthier you. You ******** do it, no matter how hard it is.

*Life doesn't wait for you to be ready. Seize it, take hold of it and conquer it.

 it's cute that you hold every STEM major in the same high regard.

They really don't with an engineering degree you are pretty much guaranteed the average salary with a 2.5+ GPA. This is all only if you actually try getting a job, I know a lot of people that don't even try (start applying after graduation, apply to 1 job a month, etc) but complain about how they can't find anything.

Man all I can say is I'm blessed for landing a job months before graduation, a lot of salty people in here. Just keep applying.

But back to the topic. Reality checks for me :

-Sneakers are a waste of time & money

-Don't treat a CC as cash (will make sure my child will never have to resort to this)

-When you start making a lot of money people start treating you differently

-Learn to be content with life, or you will never be happy (daily struggle for me)

oh so many tough experiences. I would say that dealing with people in society varies from place to place. I feel like the US is definitely a cold place.

definitely look after your own needs. everyone is trying to come up and people will use you if you let them. people will stop talking to you if they don't think they need you any more.

Other people's opinions don't really matter when it comes down to you doing something. It's up to you to act when the time comes. People can send you up to the batter's box but you have to swing the bat.

Shame and regret never changed anything in the past.

Enjoying life is much easier than being pessimistic about things and feeling like you have something to prove all the time.

Everyone dies, so you don't have to be afraid of them (unless they're coming after you with a weapon).

Seeing a starving child in Nigeria

Living on my own, supporting my parents

Seeing my father getting old. strange to see a strong person slowly becoming old and dependent

Homies surviving cancer

Realizing how much time I have wasted

Women I messed with getting burnt

freshman year of college walked to BK and saw a woman shooting up dope in the parking lot. Got my food walked out and she looked dead. cops and ambulances arrived all that jazz

Realizing how many people here in Milwaukee are carrying :x legally and illegally

Some young men are nothing to mess with. Young dudes out here really don't care if they get life or get got.

My life with and without religion.

Family and time is truly all I have and they both will be gone relatively soon

I feel like only folks still in college think this way.
