Buying a new laptop vol. Imma MAC like Bernie

Found a used one locally

13" MacBook Pro i7 2.8 GHz in perfect condition with upgraded 8 GB RAM and 750 GB hard drive. Purchased in 2012. Comes with original charger.

Its a late 2011 model, should I bite for 9 hundo

Late 2011 have had logic board issues...this coming from someone who has a late 2011 15inch with the logic board replreplaced. Go refurbished from Apple. And invest in the ssd, you'll be better off in the long run.

Does boot camp let u run FL studio with no issues too?
Bootcamp is basically you allotting a certain portion of your hard drive space to a windows os (i.e. I have 750 gigs of space, I gave my windows portion 250gigs.)

Then when you start up your laptop, it lets you choose whether you want to start mac or windows. So anything you can do with a windows laptop, you can do with a mac if you bootcamp it unless I'm forgetting something. I haven't run into any issues.

if i were u op dont run bootcamp.

buy paralelles

basically its a program that runs windows.

so you can switch from windows to mac seamlessly without rebooting.

also bootcamp makes ur comp run slower

So parallels is the way to go to run windows on a mac?

I love my surface pro but there are some hardware issues. But for functionality and productivity ill take windows any day. But that Mac hardware cannot be beat.

Might have to sell this surface pro and cop a macbook and run parallels to get the best of both worlds

yes. i had to use windows for a class last semester and bootcamp was a pain because you have to reboot to go from windows to mac.

but with parallels its basically just another window where you are running windows. and you can even drag and drop files. for example i created a file using microsoft access on windows and dragged it onto my mac desktop.

Do you guys buy macs for the hardware or software?

i copped it for both.

mind you i had like 2000 dollar pc laptops before this and i was not satisfied.

the thing that makes me like the mac hardware is the great build quality. the aluminum is very strong as is the keypad.

i toss my laptop around all the time and my niece loves to just slam on the keyboard and screen and she hasnt broken anything.

also in my opinion the software of a mac is much more seamless compared to the windows counter part.

OP if you buy a mac and need help with parallels let me know.

Thanks. I'll probably but one when I have the cash..

I have a 2013 MBA and I love this thing. I bought it for software and hardware, it's a user experience that suits me better than windows. If you're a gamer though have to stick w/ PC.

I need to cop a MacBook one day

Just too lazy to adjust from going to pc > mac.

Maybe one day... prob just cop the iMac for the crib.

i have a mid 2010 mbp 13". it was molasses slow with yosemite.

its powered by core 2 duo. joint belongs in a processor retro thread.

i just replaced the battery and i still can't get it to last around 10 hrs like when i bought it. idk y. fresh one too, cycle count 1.

threw a SSD and added RAM. signifcantly increased speed, but still struggles with certain stuff. like running office.

looking to stay up to date and grab current gen 15" retina. that joint stupid fast. 15" has gotten more portable and it weighs less than my current 13". waiting for a solid price on amazon.

What the hell are y'all doomg for your computer not to last 2 years?

I have a dell Inspiron from 2009 that's been dropped and abused

And it's still pumping

Choose better pron and stop downloading everything and your computer will be fine

Be careful with the batteries and overheating. my 2010 MBP battery expanded. its a known problem. Just use a fan
