Man I'm really intrigued with Clarkson, Johnson, Randle, and Okafor.

YOUNG AS HELL and money to spend.

It'd take way moreally than that to get number 10. I'd rather have Booker if he's there, don't like Stanley at all.
I hate Stanley, I think he's hot buns, but he can defend at the very least.

Who knows though, heat selling the pick is something to look into.

Word is that Riley really is trying to unload McBobs 3 year $17mil

The Heat, needing to preserve flexibility after re-signing Goran Dragic and potentially Dwyane Wade this summer, are open to trading the 10th pick if it means unloading salary. (Josh McRoberts, for example, is owed $17 million over the next three years.) But with a pick that high in a deep draft, it's a gamble that likely will give Pat Riley pause. "It's a tricky balance," one longtime talent evaluator said. "You have to be careful you don't regret it looking back." Johnson or Frank Kaminsky could be in the mix for Miami there, as well as Sam Dekker and perhaps Willie Cauley-Stein.

Black gives them a replacement body at the 4/5. For 1/6 the cost. Also his RFA is deferred a year. So they can chase FAs then retain Black.

# 27 & # 34 gives them ability to get picks back, and move up.

So yeah, it may cost more to get # 10. But I don't think it's that much more. IF Riley is actually shopping the pick.

I don't want Jah because of Duke. That's literally it. Dunleavy, Redick, Magette, Laettner, Battier, role players on role players. Brand and Kyrie are the only 'franchise' guys they've produced in like the last billion years, and Kyrie played there like 17 games. He's hardly a Duke product. He just went there.

I don't want Russell because I'm still not a believer that you need a PG as your face. I know the Warriors just won it all with Steph, and I know Tony Parker got himself a nice ring collection... but neither of them have rings without someone ELSE really stepping up on defense. But... the Tony Parker/Chauncey Billups/Steph championship teams definitely benefited from those PG studs, no doubt. So I wouldn't be mad. Just not my initial desire.

No argument will convince me on Jah, though. Duke = NCAA greatness + NBA mediocrity. Just the way it is.

Minimum he's good for 18 every night. If he stays healthy.

I'd give up a future 1st too in order to get that #10 Johnson, Mudiay or WCS would be NICEEEEE

If we do that get the #6 back from Sacramento for Randle and Clarkson included deal...

We have #6, #10, DMC, LMA, Kobe.

Mudiay
Kobe
Johnson
LMA
DMC

:pimp: :pimp:

How the hell do you get LMA and DMC? We have no cap if we get DMC

Oh boy. Something tells me laker management is gonna screw up big time

You cannot rely on a player who has had a season ending injury for the last 3 years and is in his mid 30's that came out of high school and straight to the nba

You just cant

And that what they are trying to do with all this trading picks and signing old players talk

I fear the worst

exit left with all that negative talk on #draftday

How the hell do you get LMA and DMC? We have no cap if we get DMC

In giving up the farm and basically every player (except Black, Kelly maybe) on the roster it just leaves Kobe and DMC, there's enough room for LMA or any other max guy. Kobe and Boogie pts us at 42 mil plus whatever cap holds from whoever is left. That's still 25 mil in cap space.

But still no closer to a chip ?

Not at all. They'd be a definite playoff team though even in filling out the roster with minimum guys.

How about this...

Lakers draft Russell..
Hold Sixers for ransom.

Sixers take Okafor.

We sweep Miami into this..

Sixers get: Russell, # 10.
Lakers get: Okafor, make next year's pick lottery protected & McBob
Heat get: Tarik Black, # 34 & keep their next year's pick which is owed to Sixers 1-10 protected.

That's a terrible reason to not pick somebody.

Most of those Duke players you listed were never looked at franchise changing dudes. Laettner had his hype but I have my own opinion on why he was hyped. Grant Hill is the best to come outta there, he was a great all around player till he got hurt. Brand and Kyrie are pretty much what we thought. Okafor got his flaws on defense but he's gonna be a monster on offense. If he steps on defense the kid will be special.

I wonder if taking Russell and signing LMA is something to help pull Durant.

I want Tobias, really like the kid, but he does kind of block chasing Durant. Unless we used him as a hybrid 3/4. But we'd be spending so much money, for the same position essentially.

But LMA, in this era?

LMA
Randle
Durant
Clarkson
Russell

Could be the squad in 2016. Russell/LMA both help attract Durant, along with the duo we already have in Randle/Clarkson.

I just assumed we would go Okafor the whole way, cuz we always pull bigs when it's there, but if we went this route, would anyone object?

One last note. Pulling LMA weakens Portland, AND blocks San Antonio from refueling their roster around Kawhi. And, likely puts Okafor in the East (Philly or the Knicks)
