Randle + Top 5 pick = 6-7-8-9 million a year for next 3 years.

DMC = 15-16-17 each year for next 3 years.

You can build talent around the 2 kids with all those savings.

Not happenin with Cousins.

After this year you can build around Boogie as well TBH. His contract is actually a bargain with the way the cap is exploding. He's arguably the top big man in the league, still young and won't be making 25+ mil in his prime like Dwert and Marc will.

Or I could also build around 2 lottery picks, instead of him minus 7-8 million dollars.

*shrugs*

You don't know what is going on in the inner workings of the Sac Kings nor the Lakers. You're speculating like the rest of us. It's been well documented that Boogie is a headcase and even though they have control of him contractually, he and them may just be tired of each other. Whether we or the Celtics have enough to make it intriguing for the Kings to entertain the possibility won't be determined until after the draft lottery at the earliest, if we end up with a top 2 pick, it's in play.

i mean tho...

He's obviously not a fan and it blinds him.

First of all, that HAD to sign him to that contract just in terms of asset protection, which idiot lets a 24/12 a night player walk without the max offer?

He could be tired of them, they could be tired of him, who the **** knows.

But to say it's worth up for discussion..

Now I am absolutely a fan of Cousins. And if he was a Free Agent in July, I'd have him # 1 and say max him.

But I'm also very aware of the idea of Asset & Risk Management.

That's you're prerogative but the Lakers should consider all possibilities. You don't get that caliber of a player at that price anymore. If all it takes is say Okafor+Randle to get Cousins, you do it and don't look back. But I'm not the biggest fan of Julius so what do I know.

Okafor, and Randle, for Cousins, and you're just shruggin that off.

Drinkin early this morning, I got it. Monday's suck.

Cousins has shown the ability to lead his team anywhere? So now as he grows increasingly more expensive, we should give 2 lottery tickets away + cap space, for just him?

I'll pass.

It's not just about cousins, it's about making the best decision going forward in presenting a compelling argument to the KDs,Russs, etc.that are upcoming in FA. I think for one an established star looks better than a couple rookies who may out may not be allowed to make an impact because of who's the coach. Boogie is already established individually.

I get that, but you are putting ALL of your eggs, in the DeMarcus Cousins basket. Think how wise that sounds. Say it out loud.

One year of Randle/Top 5 is enough to show people, hey, these guys gonna be nice. Especially when you factor in Clarkson's 2nd year, which hopefully is sexy.

At that point, 3 young pieces, all cheaper than 1 Cousins, is worthy of attracting a star to come join forces with them.

You forget it took half the team getting hurt for Byron to give Clarkson real birth. You're putting your
eggs in the development basket. And ignoring the fact that these fools are still going to likely go after Rondi/Love this summer which could further stunt their growth.

I'd rather put my eggs with Boogie than Byron.

2015 pick or randle but definitely not willing to give up both and/or clarkson just to get Boogie

let the celtics offer them the most...

im with CP on this, gonna need some young talented depth  to go along with whoever ends up signing here.

I'd rather fire all of em, and just let the players grow on their own.

In all seriousness, clean house, I mean, REALLY, clean house, GM's would line up to take over the LA Lakers. The money, the market, the fanbase, the young talent that can be assembled, the TV contract, then add to the youth with cash especially with the cap goin up, I mean......

If they really did this right, they could pick any GM, and from there just about any coach.

I hope the leash is truly short. Because I'm not interested in guys saving their jobs tryin to get the 8 seed. I want them to have a true vision of how to parade Figueroa again, soon.

If the Lakers were actually serious about trading Randle and the lottery pick, they can probably get more out of it than Boogie.

Boogie might be a top 3 big man, but even so, there's such a thing as overpaying for him.
Does anyone here know how good Julius will be?

We all know how good Cousins is.
I know that I have zero reason to believe Randle will be a headcase, and that I've already seen it from DMC.

Miss me with the following 2:
"Ok, like being a headcase is ALL that matters. Sure."

"But on PAPER..."

I'm sure Randle has a good head on his shoulders, it's the rest of him in worried about.

How is Boogie a headcase?

Has he ever been arrested?

Sacramento ever had too suspended him?

Has he ever fought with teammates?

I'll defend Boogie's abilities on court but c'mon dude has mental instabilities, but he's been improving in that area every year as well.

Just cause he gets techs he has mental instabilities? Hell if that's the case Kobe, Westbrook, Durant have these instabilities too

I myself thought Rasheed was a fine upstanding man if we're bein honest. No mental issues whatsoever there. Scholarly type fella.
