I know we have some smart cats on here, and a lot of cats who've engaged in fisticuffs with another party.
Now a man like me, I come up with a lot of "what ifs" in my head. So today, as im drifting in and out of a food induced sleep coma, I think to myself, "what if you're in a social setting, and a dude comes up to you talking wild cash ****, and it causes you to throw the fists and break sons jaw?"
Now technically, son can get you locked up and charged with assault and battery. Depending on the severity, could even be attempted murder depending on how nice you are with the hands. That can be a 5 year bid depending on what state you in, your record, and the judge. Best case scenario, son might sue you for medical expenses which can cost an arm and a leg.
Either way, it's a lose lose situation, feel me?
So my question to yall is (and I know a lot of you all are law degree holders from the University of Social Media), is there a way to avoid legal action in the event that you get into a fist fight with another party?
From what I've learned in the past years:
1) If the opponent swings first, and you give him the mean lip work and sweep son off his feet, you're good because that's all self defense.
2) If dude was talking that wild cash ****, and said something to you that made you wild out, you can potentially plead insanity (because his words put you in a state of insanity and shock) in court and get off scott free.
3) instead of punching son in the face and breaking his nose and eye socket, you can give him body shots, hit him in the gut, side, anywhere away from bones, therefore, he won't have any medical bills. Or maybe even push son up against the wall by his neck, etc.
Thoughts?
Anyone been in situations like that?
SN: it's one thing to get into a physical altercation as a kid-teen. But when you in your 20s, your a grown man and can get tried like a grown man
