Traffic signs do NOT say move to the right if ONE vehicle is excessively speeding.

As I stated earlier, the car in the video was going above speed limit already.

The tailgater was EXCESSIVELY speeding! And decided to get bumper to bumper.

All this ******** argument about traffic flow has NOTHING to do the video posted.

Traffic Flow = Multiple cars going around the same speed with good distance.

One car speeding? Not traffic flow :lol:

Signs commonly say "slower traffic keep to the right" or "left lane is for passing only," neither indicate that the maximum speed limit is what they are referring to as the acceptable speed to disregard either.

What is excessive speeding and tell me how you discerned this from a youtube video? You're basically saying it's a judgement call if the individual "feels" like moving over. :rofl: Thats definitely not how life works lol

If you are going slower than the cars behind you, you keep to the right. It's really pretty simple and theres nothing to discuss really.

Cause there certainly aren't any signs that say keep left if you're doing the speed limit. Again, it's a passing lane and all this is remedial drivers education.

^ so say i'm doing 70-75 in the fast lane, the limit is 65 and I see someone catching up quick in my rear view, does that mean I have to move over? NOPE! not gona break check them, sure as hell won't change lanes for that fool either. they can change lanes and pass me if they're in that much of a hurry.

Perfect attitude. Just make sure you aren't going the exact same speed as the guy next to you. If there's a gap, I'm happy to move around you. I don't actually need you to move over. But of course people make sure to cut off open spaces perfectly which is when I gotta tailgate to get the gap i need

YOU ARE DRIVING IN THE PASSING LANE!!! Whats so hard to understand about that? It's not a speeders lane, it's not the guy behind you own personal lane, it is the lane designated for people to pass other cars in and you are being hard headed and expecting the entire concept of road rules to change because what? You don't feel like following them? It hurts your ego to have to move out of someones way? Obviously you don't HAVE to do anything but just realize your being an egotistical, self-centered a-hole.

Yeah, if I'm in the left lane and I see someone coming up, even if I'm doing speed limit and it's safe for me to make a lane change, I'll move over.

But if there's someone in front of me and I can't change lanes safely, get off my ***.

It's not a fast lane, it's called a passing lane and technically speaking you are not supposed to be driving in it, you use it to pass other cars. This is Drivers Ed 101.

Your stance is equivalent to sitting at a green light because you don't happen to feel like moving. And then getting mad at anyone who objects. YOU are the one not following the rules of the road regardless of how entitled to do as you please you may feel.

Because green means go just the same as left lane means passing lane. You're choosing not to follow traffic rules in both instance for no apparent reason. Sitting at a green light may seem more egregious to YOU because you apparently aren't familiar with the concept of a passing lane as much so as you are familiar with how a traffic light works. Regardless of how apt you feel the comparison was, you are still in the wrong.

The lane you are driving in is the lane designated for faster cars to "go around" slower cars. Like I said you want to change that whole concept up for no good reason other than soothing your ego.

Implying what? It's not an implication, it's fact. The left lane is the passing lane. If you are driving out on the open highway you will see the majority of cars move over for faster cars using the proper lane to pass. You and others who drive that way are in the minority, and you are doing it wrong. No one said you have to double your speed. I simply said if you are blocking the passing lane purposely you are being an *******. You wanna have a pissing contest going 70-80 mph to see who has to go around who but at the end of the day YOU are the one in the wrong. You are the one trying to force faster drivers to pass you using a lane intended for slower drivers. How does that make sense?

Bro, what is the discrepancy? Find a way to pass you? The proper way to pass you is using the lane designated for passing. The lane you are blocking. The lane you refuse to move out of. Thats the way. Why do drivers need to find a different, improper way to pass you? Again, who are you? Why does everything have to change for you and the minority of drivers who don't get it? Like I said, you are purposely being a a-hole. It's like your ego won't allow you to move out of the way. You don't have to take it personal, it's just the way the rules are set up. Honestly, no one should even be driving in the left lane at all UNLESS they are passing another car. That's how it works, it's really quite simple. I don't see how you can't comprehend this.
 
i looked it up and left lane use laws vary from state to state. the law in my state says that you are not allowed in the left lane if you're going more than 5mph under the limit.
 
In New York State the left lane is usually always marked as a passing lane.

But technically you're not supposed to stay on that lane the entire time. Once you pass the vehicle, you move over to the right lane there isn't anyone in front of you.

Dudes like this is the reason why I want a slingshot in my whip to shoot tomatoes at people for not moving over when someone is going fast enough to pass them in the passing lane.

And when I pass you and get back over best believe im slowing down to 65 just to spite you.

Don't tailgate the highway. Simple. Tailgate on a one way street where you can't pass. Highway just be patient than pass. Tail gating is a ******* move.

Best believe I'm out here speeding down the fast lane 90% of the time (mainly because I'm too impatient to go along with the rest of the traffic, and because I'm usually late everywhere), but that doesn't mean I'm out here driving reckless, cutting ppl off, tail gating them and playing games with them :smh:
I believe in being able to drive in a considerably fast speed, but still carefully and with caution. I'm keeping a good cushion between myself and the car in front of me REGARDLESS.
If I have to slow down for a sec to change lanes then so be it.
 
I'm hope some of y'all aren't serious but I think you are. Some of y'all need to turn your licenses back in. Left lane is for passing and if someone is coming up on you at a ridiculous speed just move over. No time for being petty on the highway, it can be life or death in 2 secs. Dudes who get over nearly clipping you irks my nerve.

But from the little research i did, as long as you are going faster then the cars next to you (like the car in the vid was) there is nothing illegal about what he did. So to say the left lane is only for passing is not always true in all states. Now driving slow in the left lane appears to be, but staying in it from what i can find does not seem to be illegal.

I agree with you Natrix. As long as i am passing people if i am doing 70-80 in the fast lane and some dude is barreling down on me from a distance (pause?) its almost as dangerous for me to try to get out of the way not knowing if he is going to try to rip around me at 100 and i will be cutting him off without knowing. So i just maintain speed and let him try to go around me i am not adjusting for anything he is doing.
