Jordan Retro 1 OG Royal returns April 1 2017

Nike could easily make the numbers for each shoe more trackable and find out which stores sell their entire stock to resellers, I guess they let that slide because higher prices for their shoes and more limited quantities get them hype.
Nike is struggling to sellout retros for retail in general (look at the recent AS 6s.. I've NEVER seen a retro release get marked down so quickly lol) so there's no way they are going to do this.. In fact, I bet they're hoping people who miss out on these Royals will pick up one of the 30 other pairs of retros that are sitting (like the Charlotte 10s that have been sitting for almost a year now lol).

Got shipping earlier. I'm already expecting an L on release day so I preordered...only OG 1's I've ever been able to cop for retail are Black Toes....literally struck out on everything else.
Damn bro those must of been some tough L's to take lol

Since my pre order pairs are a few dollars over retail

Need to make myself feel better and hit a pair for under retail

Somebody from Nike really needs to see that Fineline pic.

I guess they probably know about stuff like that but just don't care.

I don't see a problem with resale if it's a shoe that's been off the market for a few years. One dude selling a few of his kicks that you can't get any other way is one thing. Stuff like this pre-sale crap is pretty disgusting. I know we're partly to blame cause we "JUST GOTTA HAVE IT!!!" but Nike deserves the other half of that blame. Keep making enough shoes like you've been doing so far this year and this problem doesn't exist.

You can keep your hyped up crap to stuff like Wings and OVOs if you feel the need for hype.

Didn't read the whole post minus the first sentence but Nike knows what's going on

It's been going on for decades and they still haven't stopped it. Atleast FTL and them kinda did the whole app raffle thing but that doesn't stop the stop really from back dooring really because hey can still do it and when you go and pick up your pair they can say they don't have em, nothing you can do.

Nike will never admit it but part of them needs resellers to build hype for a release.. I hate how it makes it harder for people like us (who actually wear and collect their shoes) to cop but Nike needs the resellers because seeing 9/10 retro releases sitting on shelves and getting discounted is a bad look for them when those are supposed to build hype for the brand (and at one point not-so-long-ago, most retros were actually selling out close to release at retail). In a bizarre way, resellers indirectly also act as marketers for a brand as they prove that the price people are willing to pay for products is often higher than the retail price the company is charging (I have a conspiracy theory that this reason is why JB started the expensive "Pinnacle" series).

I don't see how these releases make sense from a business standpoint. I would've copped 2 pairs minimum in 13 or whenever these came out last can't remember. Minimum 2 this time around but apparently nobody around me is getting these even stores that got banneds. It just doesn't make sense.

^^ some stores getting more pairs of these than the banneds, other stores that got banneds arent getting these at all. Man this release is all over the place.

It's the same fiasco as the 2016 Bred release........if you remember that 2016 release, there were stores that got the Banneds THAT DID NOT get the 2013 Bred release while there were other stores that got the 2013 Bred release BUT ONLY RECEIVED LITTLE STOCK of the 2016 Banneds.

Just stick to your raffles and footsite apps, and just pray you hit one (or two).

So how does one buy out a store? How much bread would you need? I've been seeing backdoor selling since concord 11s at my local footlocker. I need some connects...

It sparks interest in the brand.. Retros sitting on shelves doesn't really spark much interest in the brand. The most hilarious part? In both cases, Jordan Brand is literally selling decades old models but in one strategy they are making them harder to buy for retail so psychologically people think those releases are special. That's all limited sneaker hype is-most limited sneakers would probably sit if they released massive GRs of them.

I'd bet fineline is dropping 250 each at bulk maybe a few less but the connect is getting theirs 4 sure
