Management major here as well. Accounting was easily my worst subject. Just grind it out and you never have to worry about it again.

At my school accounting was the "weed out" class for anybody in the school of business ...every other class was. Othing compared to thatAccounting classes in 4 year universities are much harder than they need to be because professors make simple concepts too complicated. I honestly learned more from CC online courses I took after graduating, and I'm a full time accountant now despite struggling with it in college.
120 credits to graduate. 92/120 achieved. Took a year and half break from college, just started back this fall semester. The only reason I went back is because everybody's telling me to get the degree since I'm so close. This damn accounting 300 level course is making me hate life. Like this **** is so damn tedious and stupid. I'm a business management major, and I'm here debating if spending another year trying to get a Bachelors is actually worth it. Working in an office wearing suit and tie is not something I want to do. If I were a fresh out of high school graduate again, I would've invested my time in finding something I want to do instead of wasting all these years and money in courses that have neither interested nor helped me in any aspect of life. I guess I'm just a bit lost on what I want to do with my life in terms of finding the right career.

One thing I do hate about college is how they make you take some bs classes just to keep you there longer n pay more money ...I'm an Econ major, the **** I gotta take the history of jazz , film or geography to graduate ? ...if the program was just your classes related to your major plus the basics u need like a math or writing everybody could be done in a couple years but that's too much revenue they would be losing

One of the main things that I wish I would have done differently, is enjoy the journey much more than I did.
I delayed a lot of happiness while in college.
it's almost a scam, isn't it? "sure we'll certify you for your career, but first you just need to purchase all these unrelated learning materials and fulfill your time quota at our paid seminars. when you're done, you'll get this lovely personalized commemorative keepsake at no extra charge."Most people don't really start getting "informative" classes about their major til maybe the 2nd part of their junior year.
The majority of college classes are just there to fill time. It's such a joke.
Bro, Im 29 living with my GF rent free in a state I never thought of living in, enrolled in Tech school back in January got 8 more moths left and I plan on going to an Uni and get a BA as well. All my cousins and friends hitting 6 figures, some bought houses or saving for one and I'm here just hit 3 digits (jury duty check). After this it'll open many doors bro just hold on and tough it out, the money will always be there, you just gotta get through the hard stuff first. If it was easy everyone would do it.I don't even know man. And I think that's a big problem. Looking on fb and **** seeing people my age and year working for deloitte, ey, kpmg. Here i am still in school, living off shoe collection money, doing uber when i need money. Sure i'm living a decent life...nice house (parents' of course), eat good, own car, loving gf, go out every weekend, etc. Yet I don't know what the hell I wanna do with my future.
I agree. When my parents went to college in their home countries, the only courses they were required to take were for their majors (not that they couldn't take non related courses, but it wasn't mandatory to take them). I was an econ major too, and it was frustrating having to study for a religious studies final while also studying for a Macro Econ final. Ended up just cheating on the religious studies final to buy myself studying time for my real final
Honestly I probably only use 5% of what I learned in college in my career. I learned the remaining 95% through an internship and on the job. The $100K my parents spent for college could've been used to buy an S class instead
Try havin a Bachelors in ART...yes ART.
See how far that gets you :x
Especially when you owe 10's of thousands in student loans and no one gives AF about your garbage degree
At least your business/accounting degree will be applicable to corporate jobs, IF you choose to go that route.
If you have a degree like art its not applicable to anything other than applying to be a receptionist in a musem.
Now thats regret man. |I
I never understood this logic. Some of my most interesting classes have been electives. God forbid you don't study what you major in 24/7 like a robot. You become more well rounded when you take other classes. At my school accounting was the "weed out" class for anybody in the school of business ...every other class was. Why force somebody to take an art class or something if that's not whet their there for ? Is all just money, they making u pay for extra **** u don't need ...it's 2016 let me take my core classes n I'll learn about ancient civilizations online like I do with all other random topicsI never understood this logic. How else are the colleges gonna make $$ for the first 2 years?I think the issue is that they FORCE you to take a bunch of those elective classes. There have been non major classes that I enjoyed taking, but also ones that were complete nonsense and added nothing of value to my mind or life. Having to take a class in communications, which is a bull @$%@ major in general, to fulfill a GE requirement while I'm an Econ major was a complete waste of time. Obviously, I cheated my way through that class because I refused to waste time and effort that can be better used towards what I'm learning for my actual career path.
