NY Come Pick Up Another L

Bro you are judging people by your standards, which we already establish are pretty simple, even if people work in the city, that's not their whole lives...so when they punch out and get home and wanna head somewhere the car is there....so no, a car isn't useless in NYC....if it was you wouldn't see so many damn cars around...lol
Eh agree to disagree. You being outside the 5 boroughs gives you a different perspective on things and different needs. A lot of New Yorkers do not have a car, if everyone in NYC used a car there would be traffic jams and you wouldn't be able to get anywhere

Have you ever heard of traffic? You wanna put up some bread on that? We both live nearby, we can do a speed race

traffic is only a factor during rush hour.

I boned both these birds past midnight & 3am respectively...on those off peak hours I would've bust and on my way home by da time u waited on da train to get u to da first destination... trains and buses DO NOT run often late at night, and if you're on a letter line? RIP.

I still kinda subscribe to this, but a lifetime ain't really true for kicks...once I realized kicks will die and crumble on you in da box DS, I had to reassess my priorities a bit, hence why i re-balanced my discretionary spending towards more durable goods (whip, jewelry)
That's why I wear my joints. If I keep a shoe Ds it's either a really dope collectible or I'm selling it at some point

I grew up in the Bronx tho and drove for years while living there....and I mean NYC has some mean traffic jams so there is that...with traffic and all, driving is faster than a train.

I'm talking am/afternoon, why would I be going to Times Square/34th at 3am? You could run laps around that time frame but in the middle of the day nah it ain't happening, you might physically get there a little bit before me but finding parking and then getting where you gotta go will have you being slower, especially if you gotta go to soho, go back 34th, stop by niketown etc.

 @ material things> travelling

Oh man

Alp is young and stuck in a bubble, he'll mature tho...I have faith, I remember that's how I felt before I took my first trip ever with the fellas to DR....my whole perspective changed in a weekend.

I still prefer my tangible items over traveling...DR thots ain't going nowhere where... Dominicans is spoiled like that, we can fly back and get treated like Rockstars for a weekend and come back good.

cost benefit analysis kicks in here basically.

I had this one chick that decided it be fun to lift her skirt, drop her panties and ride me while I drove on the deegan north....WILD

Aside from yeezys my thirst for kicks has dropped down to practically non existence...nowadays I rather drop the cash on gadgets, collectibles like toys, fixing up my apt or most importantly traveling...I need to plan this Thailand trip ASAP....

y'all no car dudes better have your own apartment ******* want a car or a apartment

you're gonna get to a point where da only reason something is DS is because you haven't gotten around to wearing them yet...and years go by...and years go by, and they're still DS.

had someone gotten to me earlier I would had a couple hundred less kicks, waaaay more jewelry, and a nicer car.

I remember having 1996 OG Concords DS I thru em on, with my gold chain, and my leather...this was before da DMP came out and da 2000 Concord retros were already cooked and clapped out by da public.

NO ONE looked at my kicks

that's what reminded me to NOT go overboard with SB's, Tier Zeros, Hyperstrikes, etc.

ish wasn't worth it in da grand scheme of things... don't get me wrong, I love my kicks, and I'm very much a prisoner of nostalgia, but gear always takes a backseat to jewelry & wheels...

it's just how da fly cat totem rules goes.

To you, I don't really do jewelry and like I said I don't care if no one looks at my kicks, as long as I like em that's all that matters. If no one looks at them great, less people bothering me asking me about my ****.
And you definitely ninjad yourself not going after Sbs. The really rare ones can probably buy you a car off of one pair [emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]128514[/emoji]

And yea it's getting late here, Ima get some shut eye and see if this convo is still alive tomorrow, good night gents

I've been around NT to see da rise and fall of SB's...if I could redo my purchasing habits again I wouldn't change a thing..i never saw da value of overpaying for basketball kicks (dunks) re-purposed for skateboarding (which I don't do) complete with corny gimmicks to sell.

Who's mans is this?

NY drivers are some of the best you'll ever see...if you can bob and weave through midtown traffic you can drive ANYWHERE.
yea. thats the issue right there. weaving thru traffic is fun when im playing driving games on my xbox but in real life thats not such a smart idea. people lose their lives because of stuff like that

Alp lost me with that shirt

Looks completely unfamiliar talking about material things over travelling and life experiences  Got me yellin Halp!

Man all i did when i was in ny a few weeks ago was look up at buildings. Ny sucks man. Its coo in the hoods i had a pass in, but for the most part its boring and things are weird out there. Slang is ******ed. Trash all on thr streets smh.
You sound like a mark too.

Tourist *** ****** walking slow gawking up at the buildings like you never saw a skyscraper before. You lucky nobody threw a rotten mango at ya head.

I always wondered. So if a chick hits you up at, say, 2am talmbout come through and smash. Y'all gotta go hop on a couple trains to get to her? Do y'all do it? Or the other way around, do girls do this?

if it's a slide off u pay her cab to come thru, then u send her home on da train next morning

if u gotta play da away game, u either drive over there, or u cab it.
I'm sayin  Dudes talking like uber don't exist now. Like cabs are extinct.

Couple of trains to come thru? Where does this ***** live?

y'all no car dudes better have your own apartment ******* want a car or a apartment
There's homeless dudes out here with a steady rotation of yambs. HOMELESS B!

You don't know what you're talking about.

u can smash a dime piece with no car in NY if your fresh... KEEPING a dime piece is another story with no car.
Fair enough.

thats the word choice I should have went with.

99% of chicks that are attractive enough to have options are not going to accept riding public transit with you everywhere. they don't want to be pushing the baby stroller in the winter to the subway station. That's not to say that you even have to want kids for it to be relevant to the argument. We all know or should know that 30% of the reason a dude gets chosen is looks. 20% is to flex with a relationship. And the rest is based on the fantasy of kids and the dude providing a comfy life. So if the chick has self respect and is selective, there is no chance she will ride the train everywhere with you past age 24.

If that isn't enough argument to debunk the cars are useless theory, I don't know what is.

Let's say you are just on your professional grind/hustle and you have zero cares about a chick. Even then, why buy the expensive clothes. Why not just do the bare minimum and save all the money you can. If you have the self discipline to resist the allure of consistent P, surely you can skip the $500 T shirt or kicks for a 2 years and cop a place to rent out and earn you some income. I realize New York is one of those expensive *** real estate markets but you could buy it somewhere cheaper and use the rental income to buy all the fresh kicks and a decent whip. Who are you trying to impress?

Im just not going to buy the I don't care how people see me. When supreme Ts are repackaged Hanes and you spend the extra money on it. You lose the "I just like to enjoy higher quality luxury items" argument.
