No I didn't, relax. It Was Written is a solid album, however it isn't better than People's Instinctive Travels, Low End Theory or Midnight Marauders. I am isn't better than any of those albums either. Illmatic is the only album that's better than any of Tribe's albums. Tribe was always authentic and never tried to act like something they weren't. That's why their music is timeless and will still hold up decades from now. It Was Written was Nas trying to sound emulate his peers and the mafiaso sound that polluted Hip Hop in the mid to late 90's. Honestly Raekwon was the only artist from New York who did that sound justice.You said this like It Was Written was trash or something

Kool G Rap was one of the originators of that sound, however he was left behind come the mid 90's. 4 5 6 didn't get burn the way It Was Written, Doe or Die, Reasonable Doubt or OB4CL. Let's be real, Jay & Nas weren't with the mafiaso persona until Rae came with it. Hawaiian Sophie and Illmatic sounded nothing like that. Rae came through and everyone copied that sound.

if your from da school of thought that It was Written is universally accepted as Nas's 2nd best Album, close to being as perfect as illmatic, then idk how it isn't better than All of Tribe's work since Illmatic definitely is.
i respect your opinion, but i just don't see Tribe's Discography touching Nas's second highest critically acclaimed, highest selling album.
