Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

these boys in here arguing with themselves over points no one is trying to make  just hostile for no reason

I could tell by some of the comments in here why a ***** like AK has such a following, In this Bizarro land of the internet these days cats have no real life lessons or morals. Dudes just think they can say & do whatever & that everything is a game.

How's it fake tough talk? he didn't bring any of that up, didn't have an aggressive energy, he simply told him had me & or any of my homies saw you outside before we discussed this you would have got slapped. And it would be 100% deserved. Dudes talking about why wouldn't he do this to a ***** who was about that life, well your right because a ***** who's about that life wouldn't do the **** **** that AK does constantly. I ain't know much about AK until after this show, but doing an entire series on Chicago street beefs & broadcasting the **** to 100k of people who need to know nothing about this amplifies the situation even more.

These ain't Vic Mensa's, Wale, Meek etc etc who are guys who are celebs and have way more important things to worry about. These are actual street ****** & those who grow up in that environment are ADAMANT on their name not being disrespected. He's lucky vic is the one who pressed em because had it been one of these Chicago street rappers, they ain't worried about perception & a career. They would have hurt that ***** all because of his naivety towards certain subjects.
FACTS... for some weird reason on NT dudes think you can do sucker **** and talk crazy and have no repercussions if you're a square like AK(probably because most fall into that category)...like you have be soft if Vic came off as acting tough ...acting tough would've been pressing dude from jump or being confrontational for no reason...he was asked a question a very stupid one at that ...even Joe agreed

it's simple ya'll are saying what Vic did was flexing or acting tough,

All i saw was a man letting him know i took what you said as real disrespect, to the point i wanted to put hands on you. I'm an artist in a good situation & i wouldn't mess that up over this. But be advised your words are getting to people and the next artist or his ****** may not be as diplomatic as me

This. Vic didn't come off as acting tough, just responded to the bs asked by Ak. Dude really doesn't have room to speak on that Chicago stuff, yet he does, and he amassed a following from those Chiraq videos. One of those videos happened to be about one of Vic's mans. Vic responded accordingly and let Ak know that he didn't forget about that slick stuff and made it clear that their interaction would be different were there no cameras around. That, imo, is not tough talk. Just letting the other guy know that **** isn't sweet and you ought to be mindful of the things you say if you plan to get up from behind the computer screen.

Vic should have checked him, making any kind of joke about any dead person will have folks wanting to put you underground quickly.

Outta all the typing you did that's all that matters. End of story.

All that other stuff about "well he threatened him..." is pointless.

Fact of the matter is, if Ak knew he had to repeat any of that **** from the videos in front of the ppl connected to it, there would be no videos. Not in the way he made them at least.

More like NT dudes saying don't talk about the repercussions unless you handing them out

Don't tell me what's going to happen for me talking crazy unless you gon do something

Ns love saying what could've should've would've happened  Vic aint doing nothing to nobody

Flexible gifs being used.
Vic should of slapped akademiks if he disrespected a dead homie. Deadass he look like he was about to tear up.

Why do people like Akademiks? That's a serious question. How is he likable, at all?

When he was just doing his youtube channel I really didn't think much of him. Ain't think anything bad or good, that's probably cuz I only played a few of his vids. But when you see him on this show it's like damn dude really is a trendy robot that just recycles what high schools kids say on twitter. No mind of his own.

He's relatable to a lot of guys I'd assume. He has no special talent that stands out but he's become popular. Comes off as a regular dude of the block that talks music like he has an inside scoop on what an artist should do/where hip hop stands now

I totally agree that Ak is a square, and really did trivialize real life **** in Chicago. I feel the same way when people talk about LA or Compton in that light, as if it's a game when it isn't so I totally understand Vic. (Although I've never been in a situation where I wanted to touch someone, felt so riled up about it, then got right in front of him, and just...made tough guy talk and "Gave him a slight pass. Should have just smacked his thick ***)

The only issue I have is, is that our culture be picking and choosing what to be mad at. We literally champion that Chiraq, bazooka gangbanging **** as part of the culture. We celebrate the rappers, we champion them, we even give it a label "Drill Music" and vibe to it and rock with it, but when the records become real life and people die from it, we cry about it. The Akademiks situation and what i'm referring to aren't necessarily related, but I still hate it.

why are you in this thread if you dont like him? This is where we start to discredit young brothas on creating a platform for themselves...

point blank he's a mascot for the droves of lame ****** who live online.

I must say that it's pretty ironic that prior to AK gettin on TV the dude with all the steam as far as being the new hiphop guy was Tax, he gets locked up and the newcomer is literally the 180 Version of Tax

Damn, ain't even think of that.

Vic HAS to be the corniest dude in hip hop. The type that tries to come off as deep but really aint about ish. His music sucks btw

Facts.

Been asking this question for a minute around these parts. I just think these dudes see themselves in him, like he's what they aspire to be or some ****. Wish I knew how to find the post in this thread where I broke this ***** down to a T but I don't know how to do that

it's two fold

the whole allure and reason why everyone's eyes were glued to the young chi cats were cause they were tearing s**t up not caring

ak is not above an a** whopping

talk crazy, expect crazy reactions

ak talks like someone who never been punched in the mouth before

when you been punched in the mouth you know and understand the boundaries, it's the same for women

you can always tell when a man or woman has never been pressed

but in this particular case ak wanted the aggression, he didn't feel threatened at all, he has removed the idea from his head that he can get his school clothes f****d up

eventually you're gonna see cats say "I'm not Vic, I'll slap you for real"

mark my words

Less talking bout slapping n more actual slapping!

Akademiks ran with certain opinions/content that he found some ppl liked and in turn they became followers of him....he figured out just keep feeding em, he speaks his audience's comments/social media posts
