🦉The Official Drake Thread6️⃣ - Scary Hours 3 11.17.23

Yo did Pusha force Drake to make March 14th?
Here is the whole backstory
- Drake was working with Kanye on his album and was playing projects for each other. Drake flew out to Wyoming to work on more music with Kanye and when he showed up a lot of other artists was there trying to get Drake to help their projects. Drake was not feeling the vibe and dipped out March 14th early due to some personal stuff. Kanye felt disrespected by Drake and Kanye announces all his projects coming out same month as Drake, Drake feels a type of way and doesn’t go out to Wyoming again. Drake hears Infrared and is even more pissed because he was just in WY with Kanye and his peeps. Replies with Duppy then Pusha comes back with a lot of personal info that was discussed on the WY trips with Kanye. Kanye also spoke a lot of personal stuff that Drake wanted to address but was told not to.

Long story short March 14 was the date that Drake was finished with Kanye. Kanye did Drake dirty and Drake was told to bite his tongue. Drake could care less about Pusha he really wants smoke with Kanye

At the time it wasn’t a Push or Kanye/Cudi album when they were working together. Drake was just flying out to help with Kanye solo album. They were helping each other out. If Kanye didn’t produce the full Pusha album Drake wouldn’t even have responded.

Damn, I hope that isn’t the reason the song is called March 14. How you name the song you talking to your son the date you done with ye

Joe’s 8 out of 10 breakdown was good but wasn’t really eye opening. Didn’t catch the “too rich for who” shot because I listened to ye once. Was dying at him attributing the “their actions out of character even when they rehearse” line to Pusha. They make it seem like Terrance really is a nice guy

Damn Drake even more soft for getting talked down on his reply then :smh:

Sounds like dudes on both sides are sensitive. Ye foul if all that Addidon info is straight from him.

Platinum with streaming numbers is about as special as a ring with a super team.

before the streaming era, stores would order shipments of albums. even if nationwide 1million copies were shipped to all these places, theoretically, if no one bought a single copy from the store, it'd be certified platinum, just because the albums were shipped. once the stores have it, it's their problem. because the stores had mad albums that they couldnt sell anymore, left on the shelves, shipments decreased as time passed by.

the only "true sale" is if someone buys it on itunes or whatever equivalent service, because physicals are just as "inflated" as streaming is. for arguments sake, ppl that bought physicals of an album they didn't like, probably played the commercial singles that made them want to buy the album.. so they'd be spinning 2 tracks on the CD anyway. or what about the ppl who buy a physical copy, play it once, realize it's trash, and never play it again? in those terms, streaming is the same thing.. ppl gonna keep playing the tracks they like.

So practically any musician has a shelf life?

Would the same apply to gaming software lol?

What are you even talking about.
Besides maybe Teyana nobody who dropped albums or was up there would be asking for help or have not already collaborated with him

Alright... Sandra’s Rose is pretty dope. I still feel a
majority of the album is meh, but I definitely slept on Sandra’s Rose.

Damn, you could have at least given Joe Budden as your source

Joe Budden had some good hot takes

but y’all really confusing his speculation as a credible source
Joe slipped up at the beginning of his review and said he needed answers and been DMing Drake to get confirmation and he was right. Then he flipped it and turned into a “speculation” while reviewing the album

The only out of pocket **** that he was talking about was the owl ****. We already know he was working with Kanye on Yikes then bam he dissed him. What Joe said was plausible

Ye a snake.

I’m assuming [Drake] called the record ‘March 14′ ’cause that’s when he did the record,” T-Minus, who co-produced the track, tells Rolling Stone. (Drake has a history of songs named for the times he recorded them.) “I never even heard the content of the song until the album dropped,” the producer continues. “It was something private; it was supposed to be kept secure. The information got out and I’m assuming that’s how Push knew [about the child].”

The information may have gotten out in Wyoming, where Drake reportedly visited Kanye West. (Drake is credited on the Ye track “Yikes.”) “I was not there, but I do know that story: [Drake] played early versions of those songs and so on and so forth,” says Malik Yusef, a longtime West collaborator who also worked on Ye in Wyoming. “You gotta be careful how you move, I think. Not I think, I know: You gotta be careful how you move, what you say to people, what gets out, and the whole nine [yards].”
