Skip Bayless:
Here's a guy who purposely says outlandish things he doesn't even believe because he wants attention. Yet he pretends to hate Terrell Owens, which is the most cliche thing one can do. It's also quite humorous that he has criticized Owens for implying he thinks Jeff Garcia is gay, when Bayless himself wrote in a book that Troy Aikman is a closet homosexual.
I did not remember that.

A lot of those questionable sideline habits he got from Jerry though. Just sayin

ALthough the website is obviously biased, there is A LOT of merit to what is said.

Terrell Owens got played by the media his whole career while also using the media to further his own personal agenda.

It works both ways. He was one of the first to master it, and he was starving for attention from the day he entered the league.

The Eagles cut him after some poorly chosen remarks set off the biggest media frenzy in the history of professional sports, but the Cowboys situation was much different.

Owens never SAID anything. At least not to the press. Ed Werder did all the talking, claiming he knew how Owens thought, felt, and everything he said behind closed doors. And the gist of it was really as follows:

*Owens is frustrated with his role in the offense, thinks Romo is throwing too much to Jason Witten and it's hurting the offense as a whole, and at least one teammate (and some "anonymous sources") doesn't like him.

So?

And, in essence, Werder heard it from someone, who heard it from someone else...who heard it from...you get the idea.

It's funny how people take the Werder story as gospel, though. Let's take a look at the credibility of Ed Werder:

*Reported that Keith Davis had died in a shooting. Funny, he plays football awfully well for a dead guy.

*Reported that DeMarcus Ware was not going to play in the Steelers game in 2008. I'm still trying to figure out how Ware recorded tackles in that game to this day.

*Reported that Bill Parcells was going to retire after the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Then, after the 2006 season, he finally got it right. Third time's the charm!

*Most recently, he reported that Donovan McNabb had been campaigning for the ******** to sign Terrell Owens. REAL sources close to McNabb, as well as McNabb himself, said the report was fabricated.

But really, it's not Ed Werder that's the problem; it's ESPN. Believe it or not, Werder used to be a good reporter...back in the 90's when ESPN was still a professional network with good sources. Werder is only as good as his sources, and as of right now, his sources are awful.

Remember when Adam Schefter used to nail everything? Back when he worked for NFL Network, he was right about almost everything he reported. But ever since joining ESPN, he has been whiffing left and right. This is not a coincidence, folks. John Clayton can't get anything right these days, either. You could take the opposite of everything they say and get it right just as often.

How in the hell did dude gloss over Chris Mortenson
laugh.gif
????

"The Texanswill select USC running back Reggie Bush with the No. 1 pick in this April'sNFL draft, team and league sources told Chris Mortensen," ESPN.com declared daysbefore the 2006 NFL Draft. The next day, Mortensen added that "no matterwhat anyone says," Houstonwas "certain" to draft Bush. On Friday night before the noon Saturdaystart of the draft, the Texans used their first choice on Mario Williams. At 10a.m. Saturday as ESPN draft coverage began, host Suzy Kolber asked an in-studioESPN panel if any were surprised by the Texans taking Williams instead of Bush. All the panelists said they were very surprised -- except for Mortensen, whodeclared that he had never expected Bush to be chosen first. Kolber asked aboutthe reports Bush would go first, and Mortensen answered with a sneer, "Those projections were made by the media." Mortensen declaredhe had known since Thursday that the Texans were choosing Williams.

During the summer of dogfighting Mort officially reported that MichaelVick was unlikely to get indicted. He gotindicted a few weeks later.

In 2007 Mort gave the guarantee that Ron Rivera was the next Cowboys Coach.A day later they hired Wade Philips. A few days later Mort said on the air thathe had always known the job would go to Phillips.

Mortsaid that Eli Manning would "officially" miss a month to start the2007 season. Eli played every game.

Thenit was Jon Gruden putting Mort on blast for reporting a few years ago thatQB Jeff Garcia had a hairline fracture in his back, before Gruden or his staffhad even seen the XRays. Turns out it was simply a bruised back. Mort "Doesn't have a (bleeping) idea what he's talking about" said Gruden.

Mortthen reported the “Bill Parcells to Atlantaguarantee.
